Because he was gonna get games. If he hadn’t been anywhere near the first team (with no immediate prospect of game time) he’d have been off like a shot. That’s what we offer these players. The opportunity to further themselves. If we don’t give them those minutes they’ll go elsewhere without a doubt.

To be fair and honest I heard things from two places fairly similar but a couple of weeks ago (maybe 3) and a lot changes in a day never mind a week. Could be brinksmanship. I don’t want to give hints on who but very unlikely the same connection. I just thought ‘he’s gone if he wants that’. One has a very different view on his ability for the record and wants him paid.

I've no idea what Dan is on. But the notion that he is on a genuinely low, sub £2k a week is for the birds. Our wage bill was around £24m+ at 23/24.
If Dan Ballard is on £25k , a deal that was signed a year ago, I'd say that was at least fair. It will be up from that now too
But it's up to Dan. There might be all sorts of things in his offer, or he might just want to run it down and leave. Or maybe he wants to go now. Maybe he has been tapped up.
