What has Hendo done in the game that Xhaka hasn’t?

Both have won major titles.

Both have captained club and country.

Both have spent their careers at Elite clubs.

I’m baffled by this comment to be honest, Hendo did win a CL, pretty sure Xhaka has a few more trophies overall.

Xhaka has around 50 more caps too, and Switzerland aren’t a **** side and never have been.

What are you basing ‘he hasnt achieved as much’ on?

Similar amount of games in career.
More trophies.
More caps.

Hendo is also older and less mobile.

One has had a good career while the other has done it all while captaining the side to it's best period since the 80's.

He's went from being nearly pushed out the club to being their most successful captain since the likes of Dalglish had them winning everything.

I'd also point out that Xhaka wouldn't have got in the England 11 ahead of JH.

So Xhaka winning 11 trophies to Jordan’s 8 is inferior?

Xhaka helping Leverkusen to their first ever Bundesliga, beating a great Bayern is not comparable to Jordan winning a single PL in the covid year with a Liverpool team that cost hundreds of millions to build?

And I’m sorry, the England part is just plain daft. Actually England were crying out for a player like Xhaka for several years, then Rice came along.

I love Jordan, but he won’t be remembered as an England great, not by any stretch.

Regardless of all these past things, which weigh towards Xhaka, the simple facts are Xhaka is younger, more mobile, more likely to positively balance the side, and without a question the better pick up for us in the here and now.

Jordan 3 years younger, I’d take.

It's all in the past though. Xhaka is streets and streets ahead of Henderson right now and that's what matters isn't it? On one hand you've got a pivotal piece of a team who won the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal and were runners up in both the Bundesliga and Europa League vs someone who went and played in Saudi for a few months, then was part of a terrible Ajax side in 23/24 (not his fault) and then played a big part in one of the biggest bottle jobs i've seen last season, putting in genuinely 0/10 performances in the final stretch of the season.

It's a no brainier.

Hendo has had the much better career mind.. I’m certain Xhaka had won nout worth talking about until the title in Germany because Arsenal have won **** all for ages!

But Xhaka is probably the much better signing. Still playing at an elite level for a very good team and a few years younger.

2 FA cup
2 Swiss super league
1 Swiss cup
1 u17 Euros

**** all really.

We are talking about NOW, regardless, but there’d be a debate who was the better signing at any point in their careers.

If Hendo wasn’t from here, this frankly ridiculous debate about current day wouldn’t happen.

Can’t tell if you’re taking the piss or not :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I mean they are significant trophies.

It’s all moot we are talking about now. The original debate was around ‘we didn’t sign Hendo’ now, not over the course of their careers.

I’d suggest the 2 FA Cup are ‘worth talking about’, or would we downplay it if we won one?

This genuinely has made my jaw drop hahaha

Agree. Henderson was always an athlete more than a footballer therefore as he ages and loses pace, acceleration and a general ability to get around the pitch he becomes pretty much null and void. Xhaka however is a technically very good footballer so will still be able to perform well as he ages especially with legs around him he could be like our deep lying quarter back.
