Good player not given a chance.

my dad picked him up from Manchester airport and brought him to the AoL for his medical. Club wouldn’t pay for a fancy car so instead sent a taxi
Think it was the injury that scuppered him, looked to be easily good enough for the level we were at. I thought at the time that Willis and Xhemajli would be two that could step up. Football fortunes are fickle.

2 years ago we signed Bradley Dack, let’s just enjoy the ride this window
Chalk and cheese! It was a signing TM felt we needed at the time, and the club backed him. Ok,it didn't work out as hoped, happens to every club, but there's no doubt that TM's time here has contributed to our progression, and there's no fault on the club for listening to him.

We’re better than Burnley. Arguably Leeds
I don't know how you can say that based on current squads tbh. Both were clearly better than us last season and we've lost mepham and Bellingham, arguably our two key and best players from last season. Yes, we've bought a couple of midfielders from France but both are potential and we don't know how they will fare. I think the squad is in decent nick but we still have some work to do to even get close to finishing 17th. I also think we have to be very careful in just tossing away players that have been heartbeat and soul of team for a number of years. Football is not an exact.science, you need lots of ingredients to get it right. Having harmony, spirit and a connection through the club is so important. We can't lose that.

Agree with most of that. Just to add to it though harmony doesn’t come from heavy defeats. It often comes from winning games and goal celebrations. The same group as last year will not win enough. Think about the Cov and Sheffield Utd games, with premier league quality they’d have been out of sight. We have to be stronger throughout and not all will make the step up. We need better players .

Agree with most of that. The dressing room spirit and camaraderie was certainly a major factor last season and it would be a mistake to interfere with it. However,I do believe the management are fully aware and the DD we do on incoming players will no doubt have looked closely at their ability to contribute.

I notice Roko Simic, the striker we were linked with that ended up a Cardiff has joined Karlsruher SC in the German 2nd Division. I know a few were disappointed not to sign him.
Going to Cardiff was a poor move for him, if we were in for him then it was a poor choice not coming to us

I think we would have developed him really well and got home to realise his potential

I also don't get why a few think the harmony will go by selling some players. The core of the dressing will be staying exactly the same, we are just adding some quality to it (plus some different personalities to it can enhance it)

That move didn't make sense at the time going there over us only to be sent straight out on loan? Wasn't a kid either was he?

I don't think people are going that far tbh, just hoping the club get the balance right which I think they will.

I'd imagine players like Rigg, Mundle and Mayenda will be excited at the thought of Enzo, Diarra, etc coming in and seeing it as a benefit.

But there'll be a few 'casualties' and, as sad as it is, I expect some will believe they're better off elsewhere.

I have a few in mind but I won't mention them until I'm sure.

It's all a far cry from players causing us all kinds of problems, careering around town crashing cars and embarrassing the club ...

... it all seems like a weird dream that we're just waking up from,

I agree the club will get the balance right, they are the same ones that helped build the current harmony and team spirit

Some will move on as that's just football, the best teams continue to evolve and that's what we seem to be doing so far
