This thread is wild today so I'm still about 20 pages behind.

I'm not convinced we're anywhere near Djordevic yet. There will be steep competition for him, definitely not getting ahead of myself on that one.
There’s not that much that scares me

villa - can’t buy til they sell Martinez

Bournemouth - yes, but they’ve apparently got a lot of options so in no hurry

galatasaray - yeah, but they’ve also have a list of choices

somewhere said clubs in Germany - unless it’s one of the big 3/4 I don’t see it

Strasbourg - he said he’s keeping options open

were the only team really pushing for him

I also don’t think Sacha of all journos would report on a five year deal and the fee being around €25m if it wasn’t close to some degree for me.

Maybe it wrong but I don’t know like just would be strange to me.

I reckon we've offered him a 5 year deal and broadly agreed a fee with Chelsea but he's "waiting and seeing" what other offers he might get.

Just my current gut feeling on what's happening. It might change in 5 minutes.

Btw Fabrizio has just posted that Gala are now after Sommer. They were pushing for Petrovic until today…
Reckons they haven’t made an approach yet but he’s one of many on their list

Preparing gala for Petrovic to go elsewhere?

I don’t see anything in Dan that wouldn’t see these higher calibre players coming in and think ‘I’ll fight for my shirt’

Better players can take him up another few levels.
Dan Neil on his day, can run games. He's one of our best young products for decades and with good midfielders and defenders around him, he will improve. Losing him would be hugely regrettable; we need depth in midfield to cope with injuries, Afcon etc, and he's years ahead of his prime yet.

Is it wrong to hope some of our own lads make the step up? Lads we have watched grow from league 1?

Hume, Neil, Patto etc.

Am I alone in hoping they smash the premier league? Or is it accepted we bin them off for new players?
100% with you mate. We rip the heart out of the side we are in trouble, one way or another.

Excitement about new players is fine. I am with it for some. What I dont get is the certainty that some of our existing team cant play Prem. There are risks with every new player we sign not handling it tbh. Until they do it we cant be certain.

Patto is an interesting point. To date has he let us down? Has he had big games? He had of courss had rough times, young goalies often do tbf. Will he be much better behind a better back line? Most keepers often are tbh. Saying he cant play prem doesnt sit well with me. I think we can sign someone better and more ready of course, but that is true of Mayenda anf others too. I am all for holding onto the team spirit we had last season.

Don't think anybody disagrees with this. Neil will only leave if he wants to.
