He def signed an extension until the end of the CWC, but are they out now? I'm not following it at all but if they are out then the extension would be ripped up
I'm sure he will sign this week but technically his contract doesn't end until the end of July - they signed him until the competition ends, couldn't really sign a "until we lose" contract length.

don’t think it matters really. Frankly I’d rather Atletico paid two weeks of his wages. Would save us £30k!
