I know I'm huge on Lennon Miller but if we were to sign Guendouzi then I think Henderson would be the perfect signing to compliment our new signings. Brings that unreal leadership skills, knows the club, knows the league but wouldn't be needed to play week in week out

Plus would be a free to allow us to spend big on CB/RM

Yeah I try not to come across as negative, maybe more managing expectations when it's so easy to just say every new signing is perfect. I'm over the moon for diarra but if he develops under Regis which seems almost impossible not to do then we have one of the best young midfielders in Europe with one of the best youth midfielders in Europe behind him.
Spot on, we aren't going to sign a perfect player this window but the upside in Diarra is frightening. He has a lot of the unteachable qualities, defensively he can be taught how to use his body to win tackles and what positions to pick up out of possession to block passing lanes and cover the dangerous areas (this is the area Jobe and Neil massively improved last season)

It’s not negative mate. We aren’t realistically buying ‘finished articles’ it wouldn’t make sense.

If he’s got improvement areas but already massively improved us, that’s the model in its advanced stage doing its thing.

The difference one 30m signing going for 60 plus does for us is insane.

Maybe the Guendouzi link was just lazy journalism after seeing his comments on RLB. I know every possible signing is breaking new ground for us, but I find it difficult to imagine us spending £25m on a 3rd midfielder when we already have Neil and Rigg fighting for places. Cheaper options like Henderson, Miller or the lad from Switzerland feel like a more likely addition to me. We've still got another 5 or 6 positions to sign for after all.

Yeah I can't see it but the spine is so key so they might think it's worth having real quality strength and depth there

We will still spend about 125 million imo so if Guendouzi was available for 25 say we have a 100 million to go after a starting CB RM and then another CF option plus if we sign the GK we could still have 20 million left over for squad depth

Yeah exciting times, wouldn't be as exciting with out Reggie at the helm as I trust he will develop these lads fantastically.

I'm thinking Bulka and Lauriente are happening at this point which looks to be about 40m. Guendouzi at 25 would be 65.

Vanat and Saba G would be £25m assuming they're realistic which puts us at 90.

We'd then have 35m for a RM, then depth needed at CB, full back and 1 more in CM.

That's all assuming we have 125 to spend as that would be 170 spent this summer in total which sounds like me playing football manager.

It's not out of the question tho, as I said I can't see it happening but I didn't see us getting Diarra for 35 million either

We would also have the loan market to use as well
