You just had to go and mention Amad!!

What an exciting summer ahead

Not that I'm allowing myself to believe in the possibility of Amad but would him and Diarra not essentially play the same position anyway?

Or would the fact that they both seem to like that inside right channel make them perfect to combine with one starting on the wing and the other in midfield?

I know we go on about Romano with the ‘ambitious project’ crack but if we get Diarra, then there’s no doubt that other players will be looking at us as an attractive option. Could be the sort of deal that makes Bulkas mind up and then a domino effect starts.

Journos taking punts a few weeks ago with the likes of Tommy Doyle and Henderson, look to be way off the mark for what the hierarchy’s actual plans for us were this summer.
Mate Bulkas flying over now <laugh>

Obviously loving all the players were being linked with and I hope we get them in. It shows the ambition of the club. One question. Will our academy players still get a chance or not?

They will. Course they will.

Rigg remains the biggest asset the club has, Mayenda close.

As a PL club we can send talent to very good championship clubs. If they are good enough they will stay and earn minutes.

There’s great clubs we can utilise and develop relationships with. Likes of Derby, Charlton and so on.

The academy and the development of players is what’s made everything possible we won’t be neglecting this, we will be enhancing it.

I’ve finally caught up, one hour in bed after being bloody drunk last night and going straight to sleep :emoticon-0102-bigsm I’ve missed a classic night on here but really enjoyed catching up (id not checked any social media so this was like watching a replay without knowing the score for me!)

I can’t believe it !

Just shows too, the model isn’t changing. It’s just a new pool of younger players that we can now target. Young lads but with top tier experience and even higher ceilings, thats what we are targeting now.

Brighton style it looks like.

They won’t come cheap but they’ll be ready to play and the upsides will be massive.

We have a higher ceiling than Brighton and they have played European football. All for it.

To do this but still have Rigg, Ballard, Hume, Dan and Mayenda (plus up and comers) in the side would be truly beautiful.

Yeah, I think this season is going to purely be based on recruiting overseas because the value for the quality you get it just so much better and gives us a chance of surviving. If we can survive, that’s when I think we’ll see more of a balance of the British signings. I think most of our deals in Britain this summer will be for the academy and getting that massively competitive.

I’d still love us to go for Elliott mind. Seems the money is there.

Adding the u21 starboy would be lovely balance and getting him and Rigg playing together benefit both us and England.

We’d assumed we can’t do it cos Liverpool after 40, but clearly we can do 40.

Absolutely. Don’t get me wrong, if there’s a homegrown deal there for big money but the club think it’s a fit, they’ll do it. I’m giving up predicting what we’ll do because not much looks off limits at the moment :emoticon-0102-bigsm just enjoying the ride mate.

Were they in for him as well?

Aye, couldn’t agree a fee.

It’s odd how Leeds fans see themselves so far above us. There’s nowt in it.

Leeds a great club, great fans but size and appeal wise, I don’t see a gap.

They have a better current side than us but they probably won’t have by midweek.

Let the clubs around us sleep on us and underrate us just because we were playoff winners.

They overlook that ‘youngest squad’ thing, that means our existing players massively improving, and that’s before we add great talent on top.

I hope the whole league sees us as no threat (although all over socials fans of truly big clubs calling us out as the team that will be a surprise package and do well)
