We were always going to be playing top teams in a tough league and kicking off at that date. We need players. The fixtures change nothing. No need to panic. Be cool like Regis.

This. For me, as long as we have a few in for start of preseason which is still 10-14 days away, would rather we take our time rather than rush it through and start to panic.

Just for some context, last summer our first signing was 1st July and was the sub bloody keeper. Second signing wasn’t until 11th July and third wasn’t until 24th July.

And that season started a week earlier than this one. Granted it was a window needing less signings tho

So whilst we want urgency we have to trust it will fall into place.

this season, more than ever, as fans, we need to show a bit patience, a bit resilience and give those in charge a bit trust (they’ve earned it).

we won’t have every signing in place before the season starts, we will inevitably take a couple of batterings within the season, but I trust them to give this as good a go as they can.

getting to this level and then staying there is tough, they haven’t and won’t get it right all the time, but I like what this lot are trying to do

Yeah but he was a one for later. We don’t really have the luxury this time round.

I want to stress I’m not bedwetting I was purely just trying to state I hope we see stuff soon and get the business done for game 1 <laugh>
It's not going to happen mate. History tells us that, because the window won't close until well after game 1....daft as hell imo......some of our business could very likely go to the last day,we'll have played 3 matches by then,I think.

Couldn't agree more mate, so many of our players who managed to get promoted were written off at the end of the season before last and the beginning of last season. A lot of negative comments and frustrations which were obviously raw at the time were posted and were not well thought out or formed.
Patience was needed then and patience is needed now. Players who were not even considered as first team regulars at the start of the season ended up getting us promoted because the club allowed them to grow, gain experience, and flourish. (Mayenda and Watson).
We don't know who will step up this season and what quality of players we are looking at but I am willing to let this team do their work and see where we end up.

whilst we know we need to improve the team and squad some of the prices are eye watering 30m + for an 8 goal PL striker….at that price I’d fancy giving mayenda and isidor a proper shot at it.

I really hope that people stay calm and rational about this next year. It’s going to be tough. Judging some posters behaviour on our match threads it’s unlikely, but this next year should be seen as a stepping stone on our clubs growth whatever the outcome and we have owners / operators who know this who I trust.

As been said, most targets will have played an international match recenty so will be on a holiday,

most players wont come back untl the middle of next week or start of July,

Le Fee was done as soon as Watson's goal went in,

just because Leeds are signings means nothing,

we always do a sensible approach instead of throwing stuff agaisnt a wall straighaway and hope it sticks

some won’t and they’ll dress it up as not wanting to accept mediocrity. I’ve high expectations for the club but that also comes with a healthy dose of pragmatism.

for first time a while it feels we are heading in the right direction, few bumps on the way absolutely but gonna try and enjoy it as much as I can

Just a reminder, for all the noise from Leeds (which I think is one of the catalysts for the sudden disquiet amongst a lot of our online fans), they’ve made the same number of signings as us to date.

Spot on. I've been one of those who,in recalling the nightmare seasons during Ellis' ownership, where we had so very little to enjoy save for a last minute miracle.....and stuffing the Mags!.....was reluctant to cope with that again.
However, having seen how these young lads under RLB and his coaching staff have come through the season end,I'm very optimistic that we can go into this season with anticipation we're going to give a good account of ourselves and we won't be there just as the whipping boys.....as you say..a stepping stone to future success.

I'm not sure if @RTB will be doing any match threads to be honest, he was sickened off at times last season ...

... after the amount of effort, that goes into them, it must be frustrating to see them hijacked as a platform to attack the club.

Opinions are one thing, claims that the club are corrupt/uncaring/incompetent/whatever are rarely anything other than total guesswork based on the fact that we lost a football match. If people want to make accusations, or tell other posters how gullible they are, it takes ten seconds to post a relevant thread.

Hopefully the point scoring will be on the pitch and not on the match threads.

Can't rush it as staying up is totally reliant on extremely good recruitment.

It's going to be very difficult and we have to hope alongside good signings one or 2 of last seasons PL teams implode or lose their best players and don't recruit well - Brentford, Bournemouth, Wolves, Everton and to a lesser extent West Ham imo.

It's def about quality over quantity, if we have to wait a bit longer to get those players in then so be it

Of course we all want them in as early as possible but nothing has changed with the fixtures coming out - it's about signing quality players

I think it is also worth remembering the players we already have.
New players are great but we have also bought and developed players very well and allowed them time to settle before introducing them to the rigors of first team football. Different players will need differing amounts of time and we seem to have managed this well on the whole.

this is the first window I would say that we have lost a key player,

yes Jack Clarke was a great player, but too many times he down tools or was targetted in games so we didnt play,

Jobe was a key part of the midfield
Clarke was a key player at the time tho, he was the creativity spark in the team - the difference was RLB came in and made us a better team

I agree Jobe was key to our midfield but he's not irreplaceable - I'm excited to see how we do replace him

Losing Jobe could be a blessing in disguise to buy a balanced midfield because our midfield was good individuals but I feel the set up as a 3 wasn’t great
