I want the best players at the best clubs. What I don’t want is wolves, Brentford, Fulham etc signing great players.
We are no less likely to beat Liverpool with Wirtz than without him. If they don’t play him they’ll still play somebody better than our players. We’ll only beat Liverpool through an incredible team effort.

I would suggest that the PL being bigger and more full of money disproportionately benefits the top 7 and NewcastleBecause I like seeing the top players in our league. It’s not that difficult.
Having better players in our league benefits our national side.
Having better players in our league benefits the PL from a marketing perspective, bringing better deals and benefitting our club.
Having better players in our league elevates the status of the entire league, again benefitting OUR club.
Not to mention ruin that without their being ‘other clubs’ ours would be irrelevant and not exist.
I’m a Sunderland fan first, but I’m a football fan to the core.
It’s really not a hard rational to fathom.
Surely, you can’t agree a contract unless the fee is met and agreed?
tapping up?
Nope, happens all the time. Personal terms are done first to see if it’s even worth bidding for themSurely, you can’t agree a contract unless the fee is met and agreed?

Would prefer the PL to become weaker personally
But I admit I am not a football fan in any way at all, I ****ing hate pretty much every football institution, in the modern world anyway. I just love Sunderland
Feel zero loyalty to the English league or to the national team, they are all part of the problem with modern football that hinders the progress and stacks the playing field against the club I love
Good to hear that from your Ipswich mate, Clarke will always be remembered fondly for his wonderful goals- especially that team 3rd goal v Reading away. Not sure judging any Sunderland player on the strength of a game against Newcastle..when literally every player we had that day completely froze is fair on any player. as for his time at Ipswich...lets be honest, the kid hasn't been given a chance, according to a friend of mine who follows Ipswich, he really hasn't been used ( when he gets game time) in his favoured position. I don't think I mentioned replacing him for Mundle, but having both of them in the Premier league is no bad thing

I wouldn’t want us signing a Russian mind. Would bring a whole load of unnecessary scrutiny. The main reason it won’t happen is because they aren’t very good, generally.
I don’t think it will be a political decision.

I must have watched that goal 50 times at this point and I still think it's even better every time I see it.
How good was Roberts in that game by the way. I'd forgotten what a clinical Patrick Roberts looked like. 2 great goals and mainly because he was quite direct in his play.

Would be endless questions about what he thinks of the war IMO. Then it gets into the wider questions about links to Russia and you know the press would be happy to be served a scapegoat that isn’t one of the big 6. Would be a terrible idea. Thankfully there’s not much in the way of appropriate talent out there. Not sure it would unless we signed Putin young un.

. If he helps them take a couple extra points of the likes of Wolves, West Ham, etc. happy daysAnd the Durham miners would want their flag back again...Would be endless questions about what he thinks of the war IMO. Really hope he steps up.Dan Neil doesn't want to go anywhere, he wants to play in the premier league with his home club. He's ambitious but that's always been his main aim.
