What about:

10: New signing / Rigg
8: Le Fee / Neil
6: New signing / New signing
I've never been a fan of Neil higher up personally but that would make the Henderson signing more palatable as the backup 6. Think my biggest fear is going into the season with Neil and Henderson as the deeper options, asking for trouble that

My only concern about Montpellier players is that like them we are probably going to be in a relegation scrap, and they just totally downed tools.
Was pretty embarrassing at times.

Must have been some background noise caused them to collapse so badly?

Googled Tchato is the RB. Mind seen him twice max so I’m going of fleeting glances, can’t be that great given their record last season.

The more I think about it, the more i think Dan Neil is holding our midfield back from being very good with the right recruitment and more balanced
Needs to be paired with a better defensive player Jobe was fantastic and with and without the ball Neil not so much.

ELF will be playing a deeper role in a midfield 3 I highly doubt we’re gonna be playing a 10 in the prem next season

No way is any FC Copenhagen player out of reach full stop.
Agree think alot of us, me included are underestimating the pull of the premier league understandable with where we’ve been but if we can attract enzo in the champ there’s no reason we can’t get some very good players from Europe

Admittedly... I think I'd want him to be warming ours too. He's regressed since his ACL injury and needs a lot of time and attention to get back to where he can be.

I didn't mean that we couldn't get him from Copenhagen. Just that half of europe were in for him before his injury - Man Utd, Bayern Munich and others.

His injury was a bad one which might put some off, but you'd think he'd have better options than us.

Maybe. Maybe he wants to play.

Is he getting a game at United? They can have him if it means Amad is available after signing him and Mbuemo like

Didn't know he'd regressed so much.
I mean he's never been premier league standard yet, the hype is because of how good he can become in the flashes he's shown - he got pissed off when he wasn't making the starting XI anymore and that's why he wanted to leave.

Still doesn't make much sense to me. On the wages he'll be on purely as backup doesn't suggest good business. Not saying this would bother RLB as he doesn't seem to care for outside opinions but you just know fans will be demanding Henderson to start. I watched more Ajax stuff yesterday to try and change my opinion but it's only made it worse, he's bad.
The thing I can't reconcile is that if you and I know that we need pace and physicality in the Premier League and you and I know that Henderson no longer has that and his 'legs have gone' then you can guarantee that the club know that too, so they must see something else to justify the signing. Is it just the leadership and influence side of things? Do they think they can set us up so as not to expose Henderson so much defensively whilst utilising his other attributes/abilities? We're generally a smart club now so if we're pursuing it there must be, in my opinion, some logic.

My guess is it'll be the experience thing. I'm not a big believer in experience mattering unless it's in the specific situation so I personally don't understand it.

I think the experience part is more off the pitch, Henderson is meant to be unreal in the dressing room - that's where his experience is useful

I'm the same though I don't see him as a regular starter in the PL

Aye he’s on the upper end age wise but still got prime to come.

We will have to ‘break character’ for a couple realistically.

I’m still thinking we may shock and buy someone we are still convinced is above our level.

Lewis Ferguson is the one that keeps coming up amongst the lads, it’s a logical link because he plays 8 through 10 and would fit exactly with what we all saying about allowing Enzo to play deeper.

We’d need a more or less all out DM to then release them both, and the DM would need to be Kante like in terms of ground coverage.

Ferguson would of course cost more than the Jobe fee.

If we assume we were already putting 20m or so into that position plus Jobe, not impossible.

Ferguson
Larsson
Lamine Camara
Kenny Taylor
Ivan Ilic
Matty Svanberg
Luca Sucic

These are the main midfield names our group have been dissecting.

We haven’t been linked with any of them like <laugh>

I really like Ferguson, Taylor and Ilic.

this is the level of plasyer the helps bridge the gap

Triantis hasn’t been playing as a 6 for Hibs mind, at least not as a single pivot, if that’s what you’re inferring. Everything I read from their fans said he was poor there, lacking in awareness and allowing people to run off the back of him. It was when he was played as more of an 8 in a midfield two/double pivot that his performances became so good.

At least that was my understanding.
Spot on, he played in a 2 - they would hold deeper positions when Hibs attacked but often 1 would push up higher

Triantis is not a CDM at this stage, and definitely not at PL level

Talent and ability over experience for me any day of the week. I've banged on about it enough on here - if I'm being honest I'm a little smug that Browne had so little impact on the pitch this season after his signing was so heralded by those that had adopted the 'experience is everything' mantra off the back of last season.
