Agree. Clear potential but hasn’t proved much yet for me.Good deal imo. He may end up being an absolute superstar but £10m is a nice jumpstart to the window.

Can't begrudge him moving to Brighton though, top club for developing youth. If that money lets us buy a player, renew some contracts and maybe even keep a player who looked likely to leave then it's only a positive.
Only issue I have his the appetite from the player. We have worked hard to build a pathway and proven to develop youth. He hasn't even played a hand full of games and has wanted out at the very first opportunity.
Bournemouth and Brentford too, on paper were miles bigger, it’s doable even if it takes a few years of yoyoingOn a side note, those that say its too early to get promoted and its no big issue if we dont this season.
Look at where Brighton were not that long ago, and how they are now a relatively small club in the Prem fighting for Europe and signing the best young talent around the world and selling them on for a massive profit. They are like we now but only on a much larger scale deapite a relatively small fanbase
…..If this is true I will go crackers.
Tommy's deal has been done and he will miss the last 4 games and any playoffs.
Brighton have put this in the deal.
And we have agreed to it, now not a fact but came from an agent based in Wembley.
So don't shoot me till I get it confirmed.
Didn’t @Bob the Mackem call this?

I’d be shocked if there wasn’t. A decent one tooHope there's a sell on percentage on top of the 10 million as well. Not a bad deal for a kid who's in his first season of proper football
Yeah stings a bit. He'll probably be out on loan in the Championship next season as well.Only issue I have his the appetite from the player. many have predicted it. Bob said that Tommy won’t play in the final 5 games so it remains to be seen if that was true
Agree mate, said it before I don’t like the prem and all it stands for but ultimately I want Sunderland to be the biggest and best they can be if that means the prem and all its bullshit then bring it onLook at Forest now aswell. Youve got to be in it to win it and showing zero ambition and happy to plod on in the Championship is not the way forward.
Getting promoted will give us a ridiculous amount of money, and even if we couldnt stay up imagine how stron we'd be now in 2 years time back in the Championship than 2 years time from not being promoted
