I really wouldn't be surprised to see an early retirement. Real shame. Great business to sell him for what we did though.

glad he got a contract that secured his future, deserved it and is an example of why I’d not begrudge anyone who does the same.
No brainer for the lad at his age was his last chance for a big contract. Anyone thinking otherwise and holding ill feeling toward him for that and pretending they wouldn’t do the same as a fibber. Real shame he hasn’t had a chance to prove himself in the prem, whilst it won’t have changed how bad Southampton are I think he could’ve proven himself for a better club to pick up at the end of the season.

Agreed. Gutted for him, but I suppose the financial security would be of some comfortglad he got a contract that secured his future, deserved it and is an example of why I’d not begrudge anyone who does the same.
He’s done, knew it as soon as it was reported he’d torn his Achilles. You must log in or register to see media

I've only ever seen people wishing him well tbh.
I do sit in the roker end though so what I hear inside the ground is vastly different to what you’ll hear in the West I assure you of that! Aye, that photo of his knee at the AOL too. Absolutely loved him here, great a leading the line great defending the box from corners and a nightmare for CBS having such a lanky lad running at them all game. That brief period of him and Simms playing together was some of the best football I’ve seen Sunderland play everHe’s done, knew it as soon as it was reported he’d torn his Achilles.

It proved the club knew what they were doing, as you know when I messaged you at the time mate, only info I've ever had.I've only ever seen people wishing him well tbh.
I want Shania Twain to give me a tuggySaints fans I know want a refund

Agree. I thought the hype was way too prematureI don’t even think he was that great before the injury. Still got loads to prove. We were mad to turn down the Brighton offer in January imo.
That's what made me laugh at the time mate, we had supporters either calling the club for not offering what Stewart wanted and others calling Stewart for being greedy when neither was the case.Yeah. I remember saying that it would be unlikely he would come back to sustained fitness. His height and long limbs were always going to be a nightmare for that injury.
When a club like Brighton want a player, it is almost certainly more than hype.Agree. I thought the hype was way too premature
