That would be a good signing at championship level. Expecting Birmingham to challenge for a play off spot
Nowhere near that for me. You need to play a certain style for him. Everton welcome to him at anything over £20m they will have overpaid. In my daft opinion anyway. Just watched Jay Stansfield for England U21. Better bet.
He's been a decent player mind in the past. But he must have felt like a cat in a washing machine that night.
We do need another option out wide but it wasn’t one of the 5 most important big money transfers we needed to make. Thus far we’ve only got Le Fee as filling one of those critical 5 - and no concrete links to any others as yet. However today has probably shown us that it doesn’t matter as we’re gonna buy 7-8 £20m players this summer
never seen Barry play but think Stansfield has a hell of a lot of developing to do to be anywhere near a premier league player. Works hard out of possession but every time I’ve seen him I’ve been unimpressed with his intelligence and what he does with the ball
His work rate is top drawer but I'm the same as you, just doesn't have the movement or finesse yet Birmingham played him in different roles last season, often giving him a freer role Be interesting how he gets on at the championship level next season He's a player I've always liked mainly because of that workrate
Dream land signing. Would love it but I think that lad will be playing some sort of European football next season.
The boy has levels to go. Touch, vision, play both sides, balance, finishing, passing. What is not to love. Way ahead of most links. Probably why he is not linked tbf.
He just needs to go and play week in week out He's shown glimpses so far in his career but he hasn't put any consistent runs together at the top level (got the technical ability to do it for sure). I hope he gets a move where is a starter week in week out If he stays in England we have a small chance, teams like Fulham, Palace etc. Would be a threat to signing him though
Aye he will fill the Jorginho role and get plenty of minutes. He isn’t replacing Rice or Odegaard though, and Zubimendi is absolutely top tier sitting in front of back line. Rice- Ode - Zubi is a superb midfield 3
Dont think he is far off. Was very good tonight. Holds it up, links play, strong. Movement could be better in the box, but he has only played league 1 recently. Didnt look at all out of place in the u21 side. And they are a supremely talented bunch. Hope we get the Fench galacticos in the final. We will smash them out of sight Had a couple of malts. So much to love about our u21s
He's a good player mind, smart, good touch and good runs. But I can't see him growing physically anymore, and as with today, he often loses out in physical tussles. So a No. 9 he isn't for me.
It's not that I think it's not a position of need, just more that Mundle is one of the players I think can make the step up. I'd have expected us to be signing a back up/competition here and a first choice RW. I doubt we're signing this lad for the bench and if that's the case, we're probably bringing in another 6/7 starters which is both more than I anticipated and more than I'd ideally like.
I’d imagine this lad will be signed to start and Mundle will become the rotation and competition for him
I say that a lot so forgive me, but just a reminder there’s no such thing as a “starter” and a “back up”. It’s a squad and we need 2 x players capable of starting in each position.
