Sunderland AFC is delighted to announce the signing of Enzo Le Fée, who will complete a permanent move to the Club on 01 July 2025.

The Frenchman’s six-month loan spell at the Stadium of Light culminated in promotion to the Premier League at Wembley Stadium, and now, Enzo is here to stay.

Joining from AS Roma for an undisclosed fee, the 25-year-old has signed a four-year contract on Wearside and becomes the Club’s first summer signing.

Le Fée made 18 appearances after arriving on Wearside in January and immediately became an integral part of Régis Le Bris’ squad.

The former FC Lorient and Stade Rennais midfielder produced an array of standout displays, not least against Sheffield United in the capital when his instinctive pass to Patrick Roberts helped engineer Eliezer Mayenda’s game-changing equaliser.

Enzo said: “I said before the Play-Off Final that my heart was in Sunderland – I wanted to stay, and this made it the most important game of my life. Together, we did it. From the moment I arrived, I have enjoyed my football, my team-mates, and our supporters. We shared an incredible experience, and now we get to take the next step. There are greater challenges ahead, but we must face them together, and I can’t wait to play for Sunderland in the Premier League.”

Kristjaan Speakman added: “In Enzo, we knew we were acquiring a very high-level player who could be influential in critical moments – the moments that change the outcome of games and seasons. He’s been a big part of our success, so we’re delighted that he’s signing permanently and joining us in the Premier League. Above all else, he’s been a team player, and following our Play-Off Final victory, I think everyone could see exactly what the Club means to him.”

We've got Le Fée: Enzo agrees four-year deal - Sunderland AFC

Beautiful words. Our 28.

Reactions: Brainy Dose
The lad is probably on holiday so no time for a real announcement. Glad it's 100% confirmed now though, class player who showed up in all the big moments.
I love that Speakman mentioned team player, the lad is not a left winger but he didn't throw his toys out the pram, he just worked hard for the team - love that

I think he's going to be class for us next season, can't remember when a championship team got promoted with a CM as good as Le Fee is/could be

His touch and close control is obscene and that is what you need in PL.

That instinctive collection that buys you half a second.

He will thrive on the PL

I didnt know much about him when signed, but I kept thinking this will be a luxury player but as a team at the top of the league we can use that. I was bang wrong on that, hes got the qualities of a luxury player, but his work rate is outstanding, bought into the club and the way the team plays instantly. Chuffed with this.
