Really disappointed the lad hasn't given us a season in the Prem after all the badge kissing etc last weekend, then within 48 hours he's in Germany looking to move on....I understand the model were working to and if we recruit to improve our squad fair enough. Wish him well but wish he'd stayed.
Like you have all said, will be disapointed to see Jobe go, and especially as he's following the same path Jude did, just a shame that he doesnt want to form his own path in life, say he played in the PL before Jude. but 30 odd Million or so will helo us improve and buy that extra bit of quality, Mad to think Luke O'Nien will play in the PL before both bellingham's do, so LoN > bellingham's
Do you think, we have a replacement lined for Jobe, agreed a fee, hence why we are holding out for the asking price and not budging on it?
We certainly have a list of players in mind - the replacement for Jobe positionally will be Le Fee I think. With a defensive midfielder coming in to "replace him".
I think the 2 things can be separate. We have enough guaranteed money now to negotiate deals without having to sell first. Also, with Jobe having signed a new deal last summer (presumably agreeing wit the the release clause) then we are within our rights to wait for the clause to be reached. Jobe and Team Bellingham cannot have any grumbles about that. All this talk of a €40M release clause but with a €30M "agreement" sounds like nonsense to me - why bother with the higher contractual amount in that case?
If our central midfield options next season are Neil, Rigg. Le Fee, Henderson and 1 other than I'd be reasonably happy. Got to assume Browne might move on given how little impact he made season just gone.
If Dortmund want him that badly, and before the CWC starts I think we will see nearer the 40m than 30m, but anyway scarf pics galore coming soon!
Going to be as much business finding clubs for our unwanted players as there is for incomings. Got to assume that we will be moving on some, if not all of: Pembele, Hemir, Rusyn, Ba, Aouchiche, Matete, Bishop, Anderson & Ekwah Matete, Bishop & Anderson only have a year left so I could see us paying them up Trouble is, you can only sell what someone is willing to buy. I'd imagine the PL money means we might be more inclined to take a financial hit on some of these lads just to get them out the door. Disappointing thing is that the likes of Hemir, Rusyn and Ekwah haven't impressed enough to trigger the permanent deals we set up - doesn't exactly bode well...
Catching up with all the rumours on here and elsewhere and so far Jobe, Neil, Patto, Hume Mayenda are all linked away in one way or another. Add in Mepham might not come back, Cirkin's contract situation might mean he's off that's 7 of the starting 11. It's going to be a long summer
this is all just paper talk, happens every year, after the L1 PO final, according to the papers Neil had signed a multi million pound deal with Villa,
