I didn’t see any badge kissing mind. He was very careful with his behaviour and his wording in interviews etc so as not to be disingenuous or misleading. He’s clearly formed a pretty big emotional attachment to the club (part of why he was so overtly and expressively emotional will have been that he knew he was moving on) and it won’t have been an easy decision for him but he clearly sees being elsewhere as the best next step in his development. He was tapping the badge saying ‘Premier League’ but, again, that was more disassociating himself from it.
He’s going off what sky Germany has said I’ll believe the reporter who’s source seems to be the owner
Never felt like Jobe would stay beyond this year so I'm not really all that disappointed though he is player with a remarkable amount of upside. Also don't really feel like we owe him anything. He was important to us going up but our willingness to make him a key member of the squad/team at about 12 years old was important to his development. He goes with my well wishes but without any particular amount of sentiment really. He's someone else's player now and I hope we take their eyes out for him.
A lower initial fee with essentially guaranteed add ons is probably better. Birmingham just getting a cut off the initial £25m and the £10m after that is ours.
Jobe was part of this season's stellar achievement and stellar moments so I'll always hold him in high regard.
I don't think the club is wanting to sell Jobe ,but it appears we have said to new signings, if a move suits us both then we will support you . Jobe playing in another team where he is around more experienced player looks like a better option for him and his career. For me we should be used to us selling our best players, as we have done it for decades. What we are not used to is the club having the ability to replace that player with a better one. That for me is what I am interested in ..can this new regime break our curse of selling gold and buying tin plate.
Hmm, was hoping we'd look into him back when he was at Le Havre with Ba - has had a tricky old time at Fiorentina but he's certainly got ability. Uses his height well, winning headers and has a lot of reach for challenges.
Translation of the tweet describing him: Substitute at Fiorentina, but with a unique profile: a 2-meter monster, who dominates duels but impresses with his technique. Accurate with long passes and crosses, he organizes up front or receives between the lines.
