It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Seelt is playing himself in. He’s looked great so far. Certainly confidence amongst the fanbase that he’s nailed on to be bombed out looks a bit shaky. Have to get at least one in though. Would imagine the plan is for one before WHU and then see how the remainder of the market pans out. There’ll undoubtedly be bargains available as we approach the deadline.
Yeah I thats how it will play out, as long as Ballard and Seelt get through pre season unscathed.

Sounds silly but I agree with the idea of just getting one before West Ham if that one is of the quality of Diakite. If they’re a Cresswell, for example, I’d be wanting two.

I could see one buy and one loan. The loan from somewhere like Chelsea. Would leave us a chance to go big on the one to buy.
Veiga or sarr on loan would be nice, wouldn’t like someone like disasi villa fans weren’t impressed last year

They want £30m for Veiga, a young, ball carrying left footed CB.

Him and Diakite would be a bit ****ing wow. If we could get him on a loan with obligation.

We’ve built a relationship with the Chelsea group.

Would like an option, but doubt Chelsa would. Might suit both parties to do a straight loan.

Sunderland have pulled out of their proposed deal to sign Armand Lauriente from Sassuolo.

The Black Cats had agreed a fee of £17.5million for the French forward, but they've now ended negotiations.

talkSPORT understands that the move has collapsed due to a disagreement on personal terms.

The player had completed a medical and had even flown out to join Sunderland for their pre-season tour in Portugal.

However, a late dispute over some of the aspects in the contract have ensured the transfer is now dead in the water.

The Frenchman has returned to Italy and will wait to see if another move happens.

Lauriente was once roommates with Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe at the famous football academy, Clairefontaine in France.

Of course, Mbappe's career has turned out differently, and Lauriente will be wondering what comes next.

The forward has been tracked by West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur in the past and enjoyed a strong season in Serie B.

In 33 league appearances, he scored 18 goals and provided six assists as Sassuolo were promoted back to the top of Italian football.

The 26-year-old might end up now staying with the newly promoted side but any team that does come in for him knows what sort of fee it would take.

Meanwhile, Sunderland will look to quickly target other additions.

I doubt we’ll get a loan of any centre forward, from the PL, who’s good enough to start regularly so I reckon we’d have to buy someone …

… I imagine we could loan a quality centre back though
I would take Danns back on loan from Liverpool as long as he’s fit
He’s very highly rated at Liverpool, could have the same impact Welbeck had for us
