May as well start this thread as the new season starts in a few months time..... Reports coming in today that Fulham have received a bid if €25 million from Villarreal.... I would love to keep him especially if we go up but if he’s happy and wants to stay in Spain to get that fee would help against ffp.
QPR young left winger Bright Osayi-Samuel’s £5 million move to Brugge has collapsed at the last minute amid interest from Fulham and Brighton.
Whatever happens this summer (promotion or not, change of manager or not), we have to sign an alternative or replacement for Cairney. We don't have anyone else that can play that role, he's dealing with a body that seems to be breaking down and we just look so horribly toothless without him. Maybe the answer is that we go 442 without Cairney (with Decordova-Reid playing off Mitro, Onomah & Reed in the middle and more conventional wingers ala Duff/Davies) or that we try and find a Mason Mount on loan (playing in front of Onomah/Reed and which makes better use of Knockaert/Cavaleiro/Kebano/Kamara) - whatever it is, we need to make a big call on tactics and/or personnel regardless of our division next year.
Sell him. He's essentially Onomah with a potentially higher ceiling, and I just think we're better off taking the money and continuing to invest time into Onomah.
Reports that if Fulham don’t go up they will sign centre midfielder Oliver Skipp on loan from Spurs. Will be known by Parker, is very highly rated by Spurs and at 19 years old is a England u21 international
Do you think we will keep hold of the likes of Anguissa, Seri, Mawson Arter, Kongolo, & Le Marchand ? I'd like to keep Anguissa, Villarreal are rumoured to have offered £22.5m) , also like to keep McDonald and Johansen even if we get to buy Harrison Reed (rumours are there is an £8m agreement to buy clause in the loan).
I'd sell Anguissa at that price, although he would be a good option to compete with Onomah. Mawson is a write-off at this point and I don't see much value in Arter or le Marchand at PL level. Seri might be a good option to back up Cairney, maybe alongside Reed/Onomah he wouldn't get caught out so much, but I wouldn't be too sad if we moved him on. Kongolo is the really interesting one. We need a new CB alongside Hector (with Ream dropping to squad player) and Kongolo seems to fit the bill - for the right price, he could be a great signing for us.
First of all I don’t want lots of new players like last time, I’m going to say 5 ( 3 starters and a couple of squad players) First of all there are reports that Harrison Reed has a clause in his contract that if we go up we can sign him for £8 million that’s a no brainer. The biggest thing we need is a centre back to play with Hector! Also a right back and a back up striker. I would keep Anguissa if he wants to stay but Seri and Fabri can go I would also let go a few others. GK - Rodak Bettenelli RB - (new signing), Christie, Sessegnon CB - Hector, ( new signing), Ream, Mawson LB - Bryan ( new signing) CM - Reed, TC,Anguissa,Onamah, (new signing) Stef Jo Wingers - Knockeart, Cav, Kebano, Reid Striker - Mitro, Kamara, (new signing) I’m going to throw a few names I would like for the new signings above... RB - Matt Cash (Forest) Robinson (Wigan) LB - No idea CB - Kongolo (Hudds), Ben Godfrey (Norwich) CM - Smith-Rowe ( Arsenal) Eze (QPR) Chambers ( Arsenal) ST - Edouard (Celtic) Morales (Rangers) Grant (hudds) Babel Outs - Seri, Fabri, Odoi, Arter, Le Marchand
If we didn’t want to spend to much cash... RB - Robinson ( Wigan) £10 mill CB - Kongolo (Hudds) £8 mill LB - £5 mill CM - Smith-Rowe (Arsenal) £10 mill CM - Reed ( Southampton) £8 mill ST - Grant(Hudds) - £12 Mill Outs - Seri, Fabri, Odoi, Arter, Le Marchand - £15 Million Net spend £38 million
Reports we are trying to hijack Southamptons move for Tottenham’s Walker-Peters which would be a great signing as a right back is priority number 2 for me after centre back! Pro’s - Young, has a great season on loan at Southampton, known by Parker, fee already known £12 million cons- Southampton have already agreed fee, is already at Southampton so might want to stay, Southampton deal already close
We are delighted to announce that Neeskens Kebano has agreed a contract extension. The winger has put pen to paper on a new deal that keeps him at Fulham until the end of the 2021/22 season, with the Club holding an option to extend by a further year.
Players like Kebano and Odoi are good squad players to have - they have been here for several years, they won't demand the earth and they are versatile enough to cover a number of roles. I like the names being suggested, far more sensible than spending big on the likes of Anguissa and Seri. The most intriguing one is probably Kongolo: on paper he is exactly what we need next to Hector (with Mawson and Ream as cover) and if he has stayed with the team despite his injury, then we'll have a really good idea of whether he is worth signing.
Fulham's American midfielder Luca de la Torre has joined Dutch club Heracles Almelo on a free transfer. The 22 year-old has left Craven Cottage.
I love Odoi but he is 32 and only a year left on contract, If we were to buy a new right back we don’t need Odoi, Christie and Sessegnon all playing back up. Reports we are going to make Arters loan permanent which I find an odd decision.
So we have been promoted less than 48 hours and according to the inter web we are already signing Sessegnon, Ivanovic, Babel, Arter, Reed I think we need to be more sensible no more than 5 signings all young with a centre back and right back as priorities
My understanding on Reed is there is a clause we can buy him for £8 million if promoted but he wants to discuss with Southampton his chances of first team football with them before deciding... which is fair enough as Southampton are his team and he has been there since a kid! We have been linked with a loan move for Chelsea’s Connor Gallagher which if we if wasn’t a loan but permanent is the exact kind of player I want, young highly rated U21 international just had a great season on loan in the championship
