After thinking about how "thin" we really are....we can adapt to an injury crisis fairly easily on paper depending on if we have a 3 or 4 at the back.
GK - Patto doing fine. Bass won't play a minute unless Patto has a few howlers. Carney can be recalled.
RB/RWB - If Gooch is injured, we've got O'Nien, Hume, Wichester to cover (& Huggins when fit in 2025). All three can play at RB in a 4 or RCB in a 4
CB/RCB/LCB - In a back 4, we only need 2 fit out of Ballard, Batth, Wright, O'Nien & Alese. Hume Cirkin can also drop in at RCB/LCB respectively in a 3.
LB/LWB - Arguably our shortest position although not as talked about. If Cirkin is injured, it's Alese and that's about it...
CM/CAM - Well we've got about 10 of these so why bother listing
RW/LW - Again, god knows how many wingers we have. No issues.
ST/CF - If one of Simms/Stewart are injured then we have to swap to one up top. If both are injured by some rotten luck, Max Thompson may step in, or even Diallo.
Expecting first XI standard CBs or CFs to sit and wait for an injury is unrealistic. Can see an argument for another first choice CB, however Wright & Alese are probably already fed up of not starting...No striker is going to displace Stewart and Simms either.
