Do you think Scully could play in the front 2?

No idea. Don’t think he’d be starting ahead of Stewart or Simms - he does score his fair share of goals though. Probably a good option to have as someone’s already mentioned due to being able to play in numerous positions

Hope Boro going in for Brighton’s Matt Clarke doesn’t affect us going for the Dutch lad

been quite a few 'buy back' options but for the life of me i cannot think of any that were taken up, or has there been any?

i would guess that there will be a few intricate details in the contract, also a guess, can the original club 'insist' on buying back or does the player/club have to be open to the transfer as well...i mean let's say we bought a promising youngster from man city with a 10M buy back clause, if he turns out to be amazing and man city are still sitting proudly at the top of the premier league and doing well in euro competitions, the player would be mad not to move (as things stand of course) but, what if man city had a terrible run of luck ala Leeds and ended up in div 3 while we were promoted into the premier league the player would certainly choose us so this is why i would presume the player has to be open to a move.

that said, if the club are still floating around the championship i figure we would be fully behind a deal to bring 10M into the coffers...'tis a strange situation and makes me want to return to the old 'players is worth 500k, heres the money tell him to sign here after the medical clears him... done deal' type of scenario.

Morata went to Juve for £15m and Madrid bought him back for about £20m then sold him to Chelsea for £60m. Iirc casemiro had one activated to go back to Madrid from Porto for barely more than they sold him for. Then Chelsea dropped a £65m buy back into the deal for Tammy Abraham which is obviously mega money.

If you’re a big club then it’s good business allowing someone that you’re unsure of to go for say £10m and adding a £20m buy back. £10m to discover someone’s talent if you like, when they ordinarily wouldn’t get a game in your current set up and you don’t want to keep loaning them out.

And someone asked if a player can refuse a buy back, I don’t think can. I’m sure it’s a contractual agreement and probably something that’s agreed on by the player when he’s initially sold ie if we buy you back you’d be on X amount of money for X length of years etc unless conditions A/B/C change ie your new club increase your wage/contract length and then we’ll match it.

Matt Clarke is nearly 26, wouldn’t make sense loaning him out of Van Hecke. Surely if they need cover it’ll be him staying

edit; just seen it’s a permanent they’re talking about for Clarke never mind

Would love this one to happen....

LINCOLN City winger Anthony Scully could leave the club before the end of the transfer window as Sunderland are linked with a move.

The 23-year-old, who currently has one year left on his deal with the Imps, has been the subject of interest from a number of clubs at League One and Championship level.

Scully has made 113 appearances for the club and scored 36 goals since breaking through the academy. He’s already scored twice in the Imps opening five games of the season. “We want to hold onto our players. Anthony has had a great start to the season” manager Mark Kennedy told BBC Radio Lincolnshire Sport.
this lad seems to be one of those we have nailed our colours on.

I cant see it mate. Matt Clarke has never been anywhere near the Brighton first team has he? Been permanently on loan. Will just be a case of getting him off the books altogether. The Dutch lad I reckon they see as one for their future, so will still get a loan move for a season. All my guesswork only.

I think he wouldn't have any trouble at all playing in Pritchard's position. When I saw him last season, he was playing out on the left of midfield and was constantly cutting in to the centre, attacking the 18 yard box, causing the defence all sorts of problems.

This lad can play anywhere across the front, so would be a great addition to the squad.
