Why?
Why do companies ever bother taking on people who are good at their job and hold years of experience when they could just take anyone off the street?
Why?
Surprised you're serious with this. Experienced players will guide the young players through the game. Helping them with their positioning and encouraging the lads throughout the game. Experienced heads also know how to win games and close them out. Experience itself makes you a better player. Why do you need experience though? Experience to me screams high wages and no option to sell on
Experienced does not equal goodWhy do companies ever bother taking on people who are good at their job and hold years of experience when they could just take anyone off the street?
We got promoted last season?Surprised you're serious with this. Experienced players will guide the young players through the game. Just play kids and you'll end up getting smashed from teams around you. Just like what happened to us last season.
Yes, when we brought on experienced players in place of some of the youngsters. We got promoted last season?

I think he's on the wind-upWhen Doyle and Neil were dropped for more experienced players when AN came in and didn’t play another game all season?

When we played mainly youth we were getting twatted.
They were worn out by an inept manager, not bad playersWhen Doyle and Neil were dropped for more experienced players when AN came in and didn’t play another game all season?
I totally agree mate but we won't spend more than what is sensible.
So me putting my opinion across that I don’t think experienced players necessarily means them being good players is me on the wind up? Is a message board not about having different opinions and then being able to defend them?I think he's on the wind-up![]()
Ryan Ledson at Preston is the only guy that jumps out at me for that role. Mid 20's but a strong lad and tidy on the ball.I can't think of any good young holding midfielders, certainly not affordable ones. It just seems to be a position that requires a lot of experience. Given that Evans is already on 3 yellows and Neil tires around 75 minutes I would be very happy with 2 experienced centre mids. With 5 subs teams with big squads can go the full 90 at top speed.
Thanks. That's awfully kind of youIs a message board not about having different opinions and then being able to defend them?
Sorry for having a different opinion to you I bow to your superior knowledge
Who said they were bad players? They were worn out by an inept manager, not bad players
@marcusblackcatIgnore him marra, he's recently been banned from 2 other threads for disruption and promised to feck off to the premier board... we wish
Gomes at Man City would be a good option on loan, was at Barnsley last yearI can't think of any good young holding midfielders, certainly not affordable ones. This "let's just enjoy a few seasons in the Championship and at least we're not in League 1" didn't last long.

This is the boy id go for, pretty sure hes out of contract at the end of the season as well so might be available for a low feeGomes at Man City would be a good option on loan, was at Barnsley last year
If anything happens to Evans we will have young center midfielders with very little experience. Not for me.This is the boy id go for, pretty sure hes out of contract at the end of the season as well so might be available for a low fee
