Rumours of drinkwater still floating about him and a younger lads would be ideal
Yeah, I'm a fan of Drinkwater. If he can keep focused and away from off-field antics, he'll be comfortably our best midfielder. I'd forgotten about him.

Wouldn’t offer him more than a year like maybe even 6 months to prove fitness/attitude to begin with

A 20 year old lad was worn out because he’d played half a season of football? So by your logic if we had a full team of kids they’d all be knackered by January, then what do we do?
Have a good replacements? Nothing to do with experience considering Evans looks knackered after 70 minutes every game

From Wiki:

Gomes is nicknamed "N'Golo Kanté" by his teammates, who liken him to the French international midfielder for his efforts in recovering the ball.

Claudio Amarildo Gomes (born 23 July 2000) is a French professional footballerwho plays as a defensive midfielder for Premier League club Manchester City.

Looking at the bench tonight , we are desperate to get some signings in. Seemed to be close to 4 or 5 signings for ages now without anything happening

It should be more about reading the game and being quick over the ground

I never said buy a knacker just because he’s tall.. but in general teams do have fairly big midfielders. Even Rodri and Fabinho are both 6’3. Adds a bit of much needed physicality for us in the middle and contributes to set piece defending/threat which we are pretty poor at on both fronts.

We tried this with Alfred Ndiaye I think that was his name built like a tank but couldn't trap a bag of sand
