I'd avoid these 2, Woodburn been very poor when out on loan and Ojo has never ever kicked on. Really liked Ojo as a youngster but has never really kicked on Great shout, always liked him, good on the ball and has a nasty side about him. The other player I really like from City that would be a shout is James McAtee, can play CM or out wide - scores loads of goals from Midfield at U23 level
A signing would be good right about now just to distract us from this Crypto ****e. Even if it's Gooch/Roberts/Wright signing a contract.
thats a load of nonsense I reckon. agent talk. "the chance to play under Russel Martin is an attraction" I mean he does seem like a good manager, but he doesn't suit Gooch's game at all. He's all about tiki taka stuff.
Definitely. He’s a good player at 18. He’ll either break into City’s squad in the future or they’ll make good £££ selling him.
To be fair the lad has the potential for a great career. How many 18 year olds play all season at centre half? I'd like to see him back for a year.
I wouldn't be surprised to see us get at least 1 from man city on loan. They can see the minutes doyle got and can trust us to develop them now. I'd also keep an eye on the company Ian Harte works for SMI or something? We seem to do quite alot of business with them now
I agree to a point, but tell that to Phil Foden. it’s not the U23 bit that’s the point, it’s a year training with city’s first team and their coaches and management. You could argue that’s more valuable than league one or even championship football
I’m pretty sure he’s a midfielder unless I’m getting him confused with someone else. I’ve seen him a few times and he’s an energetic box to box midfielder. A good all rounder and a definite upgrade on what we have. Agree on your comments on Woodburn. Hasn’t done much for a while and we have others In that position who are better.
Kane Wilson signed for Bristol City gutted by that - would have loved him here. Free as well can see us going back in for Josh Key
A year at u23 would be the last thing he needs. That is a level far below what he has just experienced. It would be a major step back for him, and he doesnt deserve that, his development would go backwards.
"With Callum Doyle returning to Manchester City following a productive loan stint with the Black Cats, Sunderland’s defensive options could be bolstered by the addition of a more youthful, athletic and progressive central defender, something that will provide more balance." " One player who certainly fits the bill, and has accumulated lots of Championship experience this season is Arsenal defender Daniel Ballard." https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/o...e-options-ahead-of-championship-campaign/amp/
