That doesn't necessarily cover you.
Habitual residency is what matters after state retirement age, not National insurance Contributions. They're paying your pension already.
Thanks for the advice, I'll bear it in mind.

It’s actually the “ordinary resident” test for NHS access - and even the government site about this concedes you can be ordinarily resident in more than one country. Having a home in the UK available for immediate use is a big help in the test. Anyway worth looking at the link so you’re familiar with it. I’ll try to find it.Thanks for the advice, I'll bear it in mind.
Fair enough. Though, I'm not convinced there is a huge disparity. Somebody with 1000 times the amount in the bank that I have, does not have a life that is 1000 times better than mine.
Also the same reason why a lot of Southerners move up to Hull. I know of a case were a Hackney dustman, who bought his council house for a song, sold it for a huge profit, took early redundancy from Hackney council and moved up to Cottingham. He paid just short of £350k for his house, ten years ago and either side of him lives an airline pilot and a company director, both still working ( at the time) The ex dustman isn't ( or wasn't then) 60 yet. That's the North South divide for you.I came out to Vietnam 4 years ago, initially to do a consultancy job for a year. After that finished, I decided for the time being to stay here. Even though I can afford to live back home, I just enjoy the lifestyle and particularly the weather.
However, I can also live here for about 25% of what it would cost me back home, which is an added bonus. So if you are adventurous enough there are places where you can live cheaper.
Pensions is not really a good example, unless you mean only in terms of those living only on a state pension. I am a relatively poor pensioner living on state pension and a professional pension, yet I still have to work part-time. That I am relatively poor is purely because of my own life choices. Many colleagues in my profession are comfortably retired on £40k a month, and I know of a number of couples who both have that income. Markets and marketing aimed at pensioners is a thriving part of business - more disposable income.
Poor is a relative term. I consider myself poor in the UK, financially (rich in many other ways) yet have lived in, and know of a number of places where I could live comfortably without working and live on half my pension - and I intend to do so when my sojourn in this 'sceptred isle' finally ends. One can live like a king if one knows where and how.
I’m losing all will you live, came on with 87 transfer posts to read…….Great bit of transfer news these last few pages...

Well after reading the last lot of pages why hasn’t the moderator been active
A few months ago in my ignorance I added comments in on political systems relating to problems in our city and was jumped on . Someone explain please, I am pretty sure what’s been written in the last few days qualifies
Rant over from a confused member
Well that's just hypothetical and it's used as the basis for a lot of conspiracy theories, especially race based replacement ones, I wouldn't worry about it actually happening.
The Venus Project is only in its infancy and it is targeting small scale areas to begin with, I think the only one working is in Florida and even that is only just getting going.
We do need to be looking at something more sustainable for the future, though. The planet is literally on fire and we can't go on as we have been.
In other news, Christos Tzolis has signed for Norwich for £8.8m from PAOK. Obviously Norwich a better place to live than Greece.
There's a "no politics" rule, but there isn't a "no waffling bollocks" rule.

I don't really know what the contributions were but not ridiculously high for sure.Cracking pension that.
What were their contributions like during their working life?
Vietnam is a beautiful country with beautiful weather and beautiful people and a place I'm considering though Goa is top of my list at present with Costa Rica not far behind. Belize gives pretty good retirement visas for Brits.I came out to Vietnam 4 years ago, initially to do a consultancy job for a year. After that finished, I decided for the time being to stay here. If there was, there'd be virtually nothing on this forum. There's a "no politics" rule, but there isn't a "no waffling bollocks" rule.
