Cracking signing for Forest. Maja has proved he'll score goals at any level. He never looked out of place playing for Fulham in the premiership and scored a few there. His goalscoring record in France was terrific, especially for such a young player playing for such a big club. Nobody could still try and argue now that leaving Sunderland wasn't in Josh's best interests.

Class that mate it must have felt brilliant to do that with him.
ower the moon, a lot of the old lads were refused to jump because of brittle bones, a traditional chute is nowt like the modern day ones. When the main chute opens you go shooting back up the sensation is something like a rollercoaster, or more like someone just pulled a nest of sparrows from your arse a weird sensation it is especially if a bit of wind around

Unlike some I have always thought Diamond had the makings, he has been a disappointment of late, but I don't think it is all his fault, he is good enough to be at least on the bench imo and deserves more than the odd 5 minute appearence imo. A move would be in his best interests at this time, and if he can get loaned to a league one club he could be another like Embleton, who few of us had faith in 12 months ago.

I’ll not be fancying that sensation anytime soon. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

He averaged 1 in 5 for Bordeaux. Same at Fulham.

He is a tidy enough player but let’s not rewrite history. 1 in 5 in the French league is not a good record. The standard outside the top 5 in that league is appalling .

He only scored in 2 out of 15 for Fulham.

I think you need to be digging a little deeper. He's mainly been used as a substitute in France, his goalscoring record is one goal every 190 minutes. That's decent by any players standard, especially at his age.

Only thing is Saff, we don't know what might have been had he stayed, if Maja had continued here we might have gone straight back into the championship. We just don't know, but we do know, that the deadweight Grigg would not have materialised, and also it would have been the decent thing to do, rather than the way he left, which soured his time here and left a bad taste, especially for those who though highly of him at the time.

I'd take him back in a heart-beat!!!!!

We've been through this Clocky. He was just a kid who at the opportunity to leave a club in the 3rd division to play for a well known big club in the French division. Yes, I would have loved him to stay. I can completely understand why he left though and that is why I've always wished him all the best. I agree we would have won promotion with him in the team (It's not his fault we signed Grigg, unsure why that was brought up)

Is it? In a weak league like that? I can’t agree.

They were keen to loans him out and he hasn’t been a regular in a really poor Bordeaux side, that’s the statistic I’ll be looking at.

He scored 9 in 45 but 5 of those came in 2 games.

He had a great debut for Fulham and scored twice, then looked completely out of his depth. I don’t know where this idea he’s any more than average comes from.

He’d be ok for lower Championship maybe, great for League One.

Stats can be dressed up any way you like. His actual average minutes per goal is 271 since he left us., which if you eliminate 7 goals from 3 games jumps out to almost double that, which is poor.

He scored a hat trick in a 6-0 win, which also suggests a little about the calabre of the oppo that day.

I think he looked poor at Fulham after that first game, he looks a surly individual and I would not have him back now, i was devasted when he left and that may colour my judjement, and I have been wrong before, <ok>

Aye I’d have him back in a blink for League One mate, but I’d not expect him to be bulletproof in the Championship.

There’s a reason he’s being linked with Forest, and not one of several PL teams who could do with a striker.

Not forgetting Gyan Cisse and Defoe to name just three off the top of my head who were much better imo, could be more
You have just named better players there, Clocky. Saying Gyan is a better natural finisher than Maja is bordering on ridiculous.

I wasn't dressing anything up. We were discussing Josh at Bordeaux so I used his stats for Bordeaux. You have now included them for all the games he's played since he left us which changes things.

Yeah I believe that a goal every 190 minutes in the French top league as a 20/21 year old is good going. Apart from the superstars I'd wager not many players his age match that in the French league.

I'm not talking about his overall play. I've maintained that's lacking. His finishing is superb, though.

He's still only 22.
