If he isn't good enough for another L1 team to take him on loan you have to question where his future lies. He's shown flashes of good stuff last season but was (understandably) inconsistent. He needs games under his belt but if no-one is willing to take him on in this division I'd be looking to move him on permanently

As a winger he’ll naturally be inconsistent anyway, but he does need to go somewhere and play 30/40 games.

I think he’ll go back to Harrogate.

Agree. I also think he's 100% at L1 level, as you say, just needs that week in week out football. Teams in this league would be interested no doubt. Pacey young winger, few goals in him

Did we get any names of these lads from Bayern?
One of the names I've heard is Gnabry. Don't know if he's any good.

In all seriousness mate, two of the Bayern goalies mentioned earlier in the thread are like 6' 4" or 6'5". It'd be great seeing one of those commanding the area. Just what you need under pressure against the direct teams.

On the other hand Elliott Embleton benefitted greatly from his loan at Blackpool and we are reaping the benefit this season , main thing is to tie them down with a contract before letting them go , I think the current management regime is a lot smarter than what we have had in the past and will know exactly the players worth .

Agree. The point I'm making is that a loan to L2 benefits no-one. If at 21, nearly 22 Jack Diamond isn't good enough for L1 you'd have to assume he isn't going to be good enough for the Championship (which is where we will be next year hopefully) so is there any merit in us carrying him? Is there a clear pathway to the 1st team for him by playing at a club that is 2 levels below where we aspire to be in the next 12 months?

It’s like they’re playing a real life version of Football Manager after giving themselves a “sugar daddy” owner on the editor.

17 signings man. Carbon copy of our approach in the years gone by.
Reminds me of the PDC window. Signed tonnes, started the season poorly and now panic buying even more players to try and fix it!

Take your point , the management team will see who is interested and where they consider he will derive most benefit . I think he has something to offer but at times think he has to apply himself and learn to do the simple things better rather than trying too hard to impress .

Numbers seemingly mean nothing these days. I was surprised Cirkin took 17 when 2 was on offer. Same with big Ross, number 9 was free but opted for 14.
There's quite a few forwards who refuse to play in the number 9 shirt as they see it as a jinx and needless pressure.

My dad started taking me when I was 5 and we still go together now 48 years, he missed the last 2 seasons pissed off with Donald but renewed this time. 32nd year in a row for my season ticket.
It’s great you’re taking him I hope he gets the bug.

i remember the pride i had when my dad took me all them years ago, its a thing you never forget, sitting on the shoulders surrounded by the male relatives ,the hot Bovril happy days, the bug always stays. So pleased to hear you still go with your dad, mine went years ago, so treasure these memories and take plenty of pics to look back on

Maja to Forest is trending on twitter. Might find himself back in L1 by May

Houghton could soon be sacked and Forest relegated.

They don't have a decent striker, since Grabban lost interest, so there's a lot of pressure on Maja.

With our current set up he'd develop better here but I don't think he's reliable enough for us at the moment ...

... I'd rather stick with what we have.

Aye mate he made me a swing seat and I used to hang it at the back of the old Roker End when it was huge. We play golf as well and play all the doubles comps as a team, he’s 75 and still gets pissed with me and my mates.

If he had stayed we would probably gone up that season, as it is life has a way of biting you on the arse, Maja went to play at a higher level, and could end up back where he started while we are promoted, is there a god, must be as loads of us are praying for promotion

You may be right but I don't think we were ever in the top two with Maja. ...

... not his fault but that team wasn't good enough for the Championship.

It’s a long old season, I think Forest will be just fine. I’d fancy Maja to do well if he got a proper run of games but Hughton isn’t the most attacking of managers.
