As a prospective signing it seems incredibly positive. So because its Sunderland we have this inevitable feeling it'll all go tits up and not happen.

If you bought a buisness would you start from scratch or get a handover from the previous owners??
He only signed for Coventry a few months ago once our new regime had taken over. Considering the lack of transfer activity since im sure a young highly recommended Irish lad who impressed on loan would be worth a small fee do you not think?
Just read the article Tees, he signed for their U23's in April and has had a pre-season runout with the first team.

I wouldn't say we missed out on him, probably more to do with what Cork were asking we didn't feel it was worth the gamble.

Agree mate, our squad is far from finished but I will still be confident on Saturday with what we have, ive said it a few times now but our match day squad on Saturday imo will be stronger than any we had last season
Totally agree mate, season isn’t won or lost on Saturday. Saying that I really hope we get a win, give everyone a lift and start on a positive note.

I must say Sheff Weds’ squad is now absolutely ridiculous for this league - on paper at least. They should walk it.

For all that Wigan have spent, I don’t think they’ll be anywhere near (that’s not to say that they won’t beat us tomorrow).

I think we could be in for a poor day tomorrow but still a really good season.

I just hope the fans don’t over react if we do struggle. It’s vital the players retain confidence and have the bravery to play and take risks to make the system and style we want to adopt work. The fans at the ground are going to have to play a huge part in that. Hopefully no groans when Doyle first gives the ball away to their striker trying a through ball for example.

On the whole the fans at the ground imo don't reflect the negative nature of the social media bunch thankfully. Having said that, 1st game nerves will play a part with the fans who will see it as a barometer for the season ahead so an over reaction is quite likely I reckon. But this is only if we lose and I think we will see a new sunderland tomorrow, and will see either us knicking it or an entertaining draw.

Both Peterborough and Blackpool got off to bad starts last season and they ended up going up. Be nice if we actually had a good run towards the end for a change.

If we’d had the start that Blackpool had do you think we would have turned it around in the same way? Particularly with fans in the ground?

Completely agree. However I'm still confident that our team, the way they have been playing, could do well against Wigan.

Especially seeing they're going to be up for it and will attack us, especially thinking we don't have full backs (I know we don't). This will create the space our forward players need. Could be an open game.
