How many more times do we have to listen to “maybe…..blah”,it’s about time Speakman et al did what they get handsomely paid for. We can only comment on where we are now, not where we might be if people get their finger out and at the moment it’s looking a bit of a shambles. We’ve managed to sign a kid and two freebies
I’d love to know where people are getting this confidence from of buying better quality players than anyone else

Not even half way into the window mate,so if we payed for Pritchard and evans would you be happier?

How many sporting or technical directors at premier league clubs are out there giving interviews to mainstream media? Not very many I would suggest. Their job has never been front of house and never should be. I cant get my head around what this journalist is expecting. Probably bent out of shape they dont know what is happening behind the scenes, now that we at long last have a behind the scenes
Fistly, in case you haven't noticed, we aren't a Premiership club so what has that got to do with anything?

Secondly, a quick Google search on my phone for DoF interviews brings up newspaper interviews from Leeds, Tottenham, Southampton, Brentford, QPR, Celtic, Peterborough, Sevilla, just on page 1.

Lastly, Speakman has given a number of Tame Media interviews so he has appeared front of house when he wants to.

No, but then again I never said that did I? People are allowed to be concerned at the current position because there isn’t a Derek Acorah amongst us. You know what is gripping me? I took the piss out of Madbob over the road for suggesting that nothing would happen till after the meeting on 20th June, cos they are all on holiday. I thought that was obviously nonsense especially since Speakman told us before the play offs they had two lists ready to go. Lo and behold, Davison confirms following the meeting in June that the transfer budget had been approved. Now that may not have stopped them doing some spadework but would suggest they couldn’t even talk of contracts/deals etc.
Amateurish if true, but there has been nothing to suggest it isn’t

I found the last one quite funny. <laugh>

It's been widely reported in the press we pulled out.

Many were happy to use reports he was due to sign as proof of progress but not now it's not happening. Paying supporters deserve a progress report imo. No one has any idea if it'd effect other deals or even if there are other ongoing deals. If pulling out effected them why did we. Could just have slowed completion. None of this helps the position were in right now.

Really, where is it being widely reported?

And, no you're right, no one knows if giving a running commentary on transfer situations would have an effect ...

... perhaps the reason football clubs don't do it.

Got to say I feel utterly miserable about the new season now. Probably from reading RTG and twitter throughout the day mind :D

I'd be relaxed about the Gallacher deal falling through if it was, as initially hoped, because another was lined up. It still might be of course.

Just seen enough hints now that there's discontent within the club that is making me think that not everything is going too well.

Need to see something positive.

Being concerned isn't a problem, But judging a window before it's finished, Speakman been wrote off, kld been wrote off, clubs fault Pritchard has covid, people complain we aren't going for young upcoming player, we go and get a young and upcoming player, 'too young him' Harvey been wrote off, window been wrote off yet 5 weeks left of it

You have Being concerned and then you have toxic,

you have fans saying if we get best off Wigan the will be hell on. Brilliant that isn't it 1 game into the season ?

Never known a window get judged before it's finished

FWIW I absolutely do not want a running commentary from the club on transfer deals. I don't want us going anywhere near back to the way SD used to be open about things and slag off agents etc (ironically probably actually lying despite being "open").

But I do think somebody senior at the club (KLD or Speakman) giving some sort of reassuring video interview, will help. I know they can't say much. But right now its a vacuum and I feel for LJ having to be interviewed after these friendlies and having everything he says be second guessed, when they could script a sensible message and put it out.

Wild speculation based on other wild speculation might be another way to put it <laugh>

Is there discontent within the club? Or are you basing that on what's being posted on RTG and Twitter?
I really don't understand all the negativity (not necessarily from you but in general). We've got a new owner and the club is being rebuilt. That's not going to be instantaneous. The constant criticism of the club isn't going to make the rebuild faster.

Yeah for sure. Just enough of it though to bring me down. I'm a sensitive soul :D

Feels a world away from all the posts last night saying the club were confident behind the scenes.

I am still quite chilled about it, but feel quite sickened by the reaction of some supporters to 2 newspaper articles, one in the Daily Mail and one in The NEWCASTLE Evening Chronicle, need to wait and see what happens lads and lasses, I am not ITK, but I will wait and see, if the management team **** it up I will join the majority with the dirty protests and self harm

Haway man, how many people would it reassure ...

... total waste of time and probably counter productive tbh.

Yeh I hate the constant negativity and criticism. I'm trying to be balanced with mine.

The window is far from over, and the club is not a shambles. And the approach they're taking has plenty of merits.

I'm just concerned that things aren't as they seem. Call it natural anxiety. Needs something positive to happen to snap me out of it.

I reckon a lot of fans are in the same boat but are dealing with that emotion in a different way.

Yeh possibly counter productive. I guess people will find a way to spin what is said however they want it spun. And if they can't find a way to spin it negatively they'll instead work out what wasn't said and spin that as a negative instead.

I Do but I don't understand judging the window before it's finished?
Don't think anyone has judged it yet ?
Fans are just getting anxious that's all .

It's all well judging the window on the 1st September we've got 5 league games to play by then if we don't start well it could be the difference at the end of the season .
Then we'll all be saying imagine if we weren't having to play Winchester at rb or Neil at lb for the first 4 games
That's the reality!!
