According to who and, in any case, why should the club have to explain everything they do ... ... what if that explanation jeopardises another deal?
already becoming obvious, we have the lads who are none too happy with the progress in the window and we can usually see thier side of things although we may not agree, but right now there seems to be a lot more negative rubbish with no substance to it pouring out from more supporters...this is why we need something from the club, if this continues to fester then by the time the 1st game comes round there is going to be one hell of a toxic feeling around the ground. even seen a post saying he has 'heard summit' and reckons hell on behind the scenes...the sad part is, some will hang on his word even though he has not and will not post a single thing to back up his claim, we already know that info is not coming out of the club as it used to (and that alone has angered some who relish the attention they get for being ITK) so i would be very surprised if anyone has heard anything of note. if you know feck all then post feck all, if you are that desperate for attention, go and stand naked in a park somewhere...you will get more attention than you can handle then!!
For me I prefer the rumours its fun to watch and the club staying completely silent is a welcome new era. For too long it leaked like a sieve . Far better to ignore the clamour of fans and media and just get on with their business. I'll take view at the end of the window and start to judge their actions once we see the team play a few games..
Why dont we all just chill out, not read social media, forums and listen to every ITK and let things happen without a running commentary. There will be loads going on. In any business, deals take time, there are arguments and disagreements and nobody here knows anything about the detail or what Speakman is like or KLD. It's their first proper window, a new structure is getting put in place. Let's give them time. It might take more than a season but I'll take that if there is a process for moving forward
while i agree with the sentiments, you obviously read social media and contributed to the 'running commentary'
I’m pretty chill about it, got confidence in the new ownership/team to get it right. It’s frustrating as the 1st game is so close but it’s a long old season. Be patient.
It's been widely reported in the press we pulled out. Many were happy to use reports he was due to sign as proof of progress but not now it's not happening. Paying supporters deserve a progress report imo. No one has any idea if it'd effect other deals or even if there are other ongoing deals. If pulling out effected them why did we. Could just have slowed completion. None of this helps the position were in right now.
What baffles me most about pulling out of this is, we need two left-backs, ideally two decent ones to compete with each other. This was supposedly a free transfer with Liverpool having paid up his contract but in return, inserted a sell-on clause. That seems fair enough to me and our only outlay is wages which presumably we'd already be aware of. If he's a success LIverpool get their portion of the sell-on fee and any money we make is profit. So for me, a no-brainer. Even if we have someone better lined up, we still need two for competition and it's low cost so that's what puzzles me. According to the media we've bid £400k-£600k for Gabriel of Forest who's a right-back and also in for O'Donnell of Motherwell, whether it's a case of either or remains to be seen but looks like two quality players for the one position. Ideally we'll get both for competition but I doubt it, we've enough players to fill in at right-back in emergencies if needs be.
That's what I thought although Roker Report did say they'd heard from 'the Liverpool end' we'd pulled out. I know some people knock them but there are at least one of the lads there who gets good inside info so I'm not dismissing what they say.
How is being concerned turned into undermining the new regime ffs?? We are just over a week away from the start of the season...no full backs, need at least 2 strikers and a winger and attacking midfielder and a goal keeper. Speakman was spouting **** before the play offs about how they had 2 lists blah blah blah and that they would get to work ASAP. We are far weaker than the end of last season.
Just had a thought there and a possibility to throw into the mix. It could be the agent messing around that caused us to walk away. Rather than jeopardising other deals, it would be a message to agents (and players) that we won't accept it.
Surely you can understand fan frustration a week tomorrow since we were told a 4th bid had gone in key and were still no further forward. Last pre season friendly tomorrow and were still playing midfielders at full back
Agree. I've had to unfollow a few on Twitter, their patter is ****ing lifting; even directly back to the clubs tweets about ex players birthdays ffs. It's embarrassing - grown men as well.
How many more times do we have to listen to “maybe…..blah”,it’s about time Speakman et al did what they get handsomely paid for. We can only comment on where we are now, not where we might be if people get their finger out and at the moment it’s looking a bit of a shambles. We’ve managed to sign a kid and two freebies I’d love to know where people are getting this confidence from of buying better quality players than anyone else
Made the point that everyone needs to chill out over on RTG and received a load of replies of people kicking off at the mere suggestion of waiting to see how it looks at the end of the window. Yes, we'd all love to have our squad sorted by now but it isn't the case. It also doesn't mean we won't be competitive.
