well, the 'last lot' basically decimated our youth set up, since KLD came in he has brought a few young lads in which resulted in better results for the U23's...hopefully, that will mean more young lads coming through the ranks.
there was a thought doing the rounds a good few years back amongst clubs that buying young talent when cheap then selling later at profit was the way to sustain the clubs, unfortunately, what we ended up seeing was the big clubs poaching as many of the talented kids as they could then loaning them to lower league clubs, giving them 2 or 3 first team games upon return then selling them at silly money.
the big clubs have a massive advantage over the others, give a kid the choice of man utd or hartlepool and we know where he will go, i firmly believe KLD will explore at least a few other options.
I can see your frustration mate, The old timers on this board know your a good poster and love the club, and like most all of us just want out of this league, I can remember loads of times ive disagreed with a signing or even a manager, but we all still go on supporting. For me this is a none story from a **** club with **** history which were run by corrupt ****s like Chinney Hill, cheating barsteward. the sooner they go into liquidation the better for me. As for this Irish lad you will have plenty of time to watch things unfurl and make a decision later if right or wrong. For me im looking forward to the first game happy as hell, and just know in my heart this is the season we go up.

No I am not worried about that, I was wondering why can they not buy the next level up for decent fees and wages, why does most lads on here think they have to be crap just because we payed decent money for them, that was the old buying team, if the new buying team do the same they are hardly worth having are they.

Probably half those on here moved over cos it’s less negative tbh. The truth is likely inbetween. We haven’t done enough at this point quite clearly and I suspect there are errors in our processes but there is also time for them to turn it around and we’ve lost nowt yet.
