Aye that promotion season shows we got it right - :emoticon-0148-yes:
Do you change the point of your argument to suit your argument when someone points out flaws in your current point?. You want a proven goal scorer, argue that there is no proof the Stewart is a proven goal scorer. When we state that Charlie Wyke wasn’t, your argument changes to be about promotion?

Make your mind up which point you want to make. Despite having a 31 goal striker, we didn’t get promoted. You said we needed to sign a proven striker to get promoted. Obviously this can’t be the case

The young and high re-sale player is the ideal signing, but not the only one. It's about value. If he fits the bill at a low cost to benefit ratio then no harm done.

I don't know hardly ANYTHING about him so I'm by no means saying he'd be good or brilliant. I'm just saying on paper he seems decent and I'm certainly not ruling out any signings based on an international tournament whilst we are in this division.
I saw Scotland play and I saw Gabriel for blackpool and the 2 players are chalk and cheese. Hope we're not changing tact but we'll find out the the comming weeks. As I've posted I'm not happy with squad as it is and I'm aware we've time yet but only 10 days until season starts. People in.key areas need to earn their money at this point. I want something to get excited about. Players we wouldn't have signed over the last couple of years. At the moment it feels like a lot wil be a bit flat rather than buzzing for new season. I though try to remember we've some great young players of our own...... as long as they're not sold off ;)

I'd rather Gabriel or Key than O'Donnell based on my extremely limited knowledge of all of them. Just don't think he'd be a disaster.

Its also not the end of the world if other clubs think we have multiple options and won't spend silly money and keep bidding on the same player a la Grigg.

Jordan Jones could be going Ipswich. Under the right manager and playing him in his proper position, has the potential to be the best player in the league imo. I think his inconsistencies here were in part down to Johnson ****ing about with him game to game.

Or you could argue that his inconsistencies spoiled his chances of a regular place ...

... he needs to choose his next move carefully, he could end up fading away.

I think he's one of these wingers who plays well when the team are playing well and on the front foot. His performances dropped when the team turned to ****e the last 10 games. If Ipswich start the season flying, so will he. Imo.

That's got to be the biggest case of hyperbole ever posted on this site, in which way is he 5 times better than Wyke?
Cos wyke is hypershite and managed 30 odd goals. The lochness drogba may not score 30 but will get the other attackers involved and scoring a lot more

Wouldn’t be arsed if he went there. After the Portsmouth game in February (I think?) he was pretty much anonymous for the rest of the season. He was particularly poor in the play off semi final first leg down at Lincoln.

Hit a nerve there!

Just reading Gab Sutton's League 2 preview. Not everyone will always agree with him but he clearly knows his stuff.

Only reason I bring it up in here as he refers to Nicky Cadden from Forest Green as the best left wing back in League 2. He's 24 and Scottish. Could be a good option if Hume doesn't sign or for whatever reason Gallacher doesn't come off.

https://blog.betvictor.com/en-gb/sports/football/league-two/league-two-2021-22-season-preview-1-24/

McFadzen was highly rated in league 2 aswell and Winchester (who could yet come good).
I dont find signing first team players from league 2 very ambitious at all really, is this really the way forward for a club of our size and supposive wealth signing players from League 2??

Personally not a big fan of Winchester (he is not in Macfazdean class of crap mind) just not that good. However LJ brought him into the club... so he gets picked?

I agree mate , this constant negativity towards Burge is becoming very boring.
Don't get me wrong he doesn't fill me with much confidence and would love us to bring the young lad in from Stoke on loan.
However looking at Burges stats, he has 5th highest clean sheets, conceded the 3rd least amount of goals and I think he had the second highest safe percentage which to me is probably the most important stat.
He was actually rated as the top keeper in the league till the defence fell apart for the last 12 games.
As I say I don't feel confident watching him but with a settled defence in front of him I'd quite happy

Think Bursik is going to be first choice at Stoke now.

I would rather Burge replaced, but if he's not will support him. And I find the hatred towards his cringeworthy. He doesn't deserve abuse just because he's not the best keeper in the league.

Yeah im not a fan either. He was rated one of the best in that league though so whats that tell you?
Being linked and signing players from League 2 pretty much sums up our ambition at the moment, and i really thought in March we had a whole new era and an exciting transfer window ahead of us. How wrong was I
