FFS manning as said can play wing back

Great little player

Must have some incoming players only way this can be justified maybe an experienced midfield player

This surprised me as well.

I had Manning as a tried and tested back up for Scowen, Luongo and Freeman, plus he was flexible for other positons.

So as you say, if he is leaving, then we must have some other loans coming in.

Seems odd to let Manning go to possible lower league challengers. Definitely one for the future and will hopefully get many games under his belt as good experience for next season. Let’s hope we also have someone useful coming in to make sense of it.

Going out on loan is part and parcel for young players but I'd have thought Manning was well enough into his development now, so much so that he'd be challenging the starting 11. Don't get why he's good enough to play for another team in our division but not us? Still Furlong and Eze have benefited from loans so as long as we get him back it might be good in the long run. Feels like one of our few goal threats going though.

Cousins has been playing well, and has jumped ahead of Manning....he too has played as back.
If Manning plays 30 matches..
And back to us next year...will be well worth it

No brainer really.....unlikely to shift Freeman scowan or mass from the starting 11 at the moment....they have a good young manager who tries to get his sides playing football the right way. Get 20 or so games under his belt by January and if Freeman or mass are sold then he comes back with more experience into the side....good move for all parties...

Anyone who witnessed Paul Smyth's headless chicken impersonation on Saturday will be wondering why we have let a decent wide player go out on loan to a rival. I thought Manning already done all the under-23/loan/bench apprenticeship anyway and it's really now or never for the lad.

Manning hasn't had a loan spell since he's been with us.

Sounds like he's well down the pecking order, so a loan is logical. toughen him up and give him game time. Not logical to loan him to a team that may will be round and about us in the league.
