Apparently Trent Sainsbury posted a pic of his passport wrapped around a boarding pass. Could be the ‘management’ escalated this after knowing about Furlongs operation. Seems the right sort and needs to kick-on his career after a bit of a pause in his career in China. Could be a mutually beneficial move, hopefully we can get him in and paired up with Leistner and the defensive line quickly.
Definitely needed now as we are without Furlong until November....

Apparently wages are an issue with Trent - imagine he's on a fair whack in China....but the club are relying on Mass selling the club to him.

I was saying that to my son earlier. We're going to struggle to match what he's likely to be getting in China.

So unless he thinks he’s good enough to one day play in a top European league and needs a platform to show himself off he’s already reached the peak of his career by playing in the World Cup finals, why would he give up the money? Mind you, China isn’t a great place to live, and he hasn’t actually played much for the last 2 seasons out on loan to Inter Milan (20 minutes as a sub and don’t get excited, it’s the sister club of his Chinese team) and Grasshoppers last year (9 games), in fact he’s played more for Australia (17 games over the same time).

He is only 26. Hope fully he is ambitous and would like to devlop a football carreer in England. We could be a good shop window if he plays regularly and well.

With a low buy-out clause this could be a good "win-win" for both parties?

From Birmingham Live website :
Maccabi Tel Aviv striker Kjartansson is also attracting interest from Middlesbrough and Queens Park Rangers following his recent goal glut.

The 28-year-old has found the net 42 times in two seasons with Maccabi Tel Aviv and finished top scorer in Israel’s top flight last season.

Kjartansson also scored regularly with Vålerenga, 25 in 29 games 4 years ago. He could be a useful addition.

No Shodipo in squad for Germany. Thought he was a serious prospect. Seemed to fall out with Holloway. Attitude problem?

Sainsburys team want a million for him ( sounds cheap ISH)... Loan impossible as he is within 6 months of his contract end.

So deal has stalled
