I was a bit surprised to find myself quite so pleased by the news of Lyndon extending his contract. I suppose we have had a stream of bad results and bad news and this is a very welcome positive for a change; and the club deserves a pat on the back for having achieved it.
I fully expected him to leave and whilst I'd like him to score more goals, his work rate is very valuable, both in attack and in defence. He seems to like the club and this may be a sign of some refreshing loyalty (and probably a decent pay rise, too). The longer contract now increases his potential transfer value and, if he'd have left, let's face it, we couldn't have afforded to get as good a replacement (unless our recruitment team stumbled across an unpolished diamond, an unlikely event if ever there was one).
Hopefully, there is more good news to come...
