One striker required. I think we'd all pretty much forgotten Frey existed as he wasn't match fit and hadn't played much over the last two seasons before he got himself injured. Up to him now whether he takes his chance. Also interested to see how much Armstrong will have learned during the pre-season. Dykes knows he has something to prove and that he is now in the shop window if not for this summer then with a view to the January sales.

Frey looked a lot leaner in the training pics but I can’t say I’m optimistic. Dykes has had something to prove for four years and has managed to get worse every season. But it’s better than this time last year wondering if Chris Martin might do us a favour again.
I’m not normally so positive about our player situation in the off season but l have so much confidence in our manager and trust him to turn water into wine come dinner time.
Difficulty is there ain't many 20 goals season guys about who are available for peanuts. The added factor in Dykes' case is that he is in the last year now and has to start scoring somewhere if he wants to be considered for the forthcoming World Cup in 2 years time. You wouldn't have thought he added much. Until you saw just how inept Scotland were in getting the ball in the net during the Euro finals.
