Apparently the transfer ban only applied to players who they wanted to bring in, but loan players were exempt, so they were able to buy him. There wasn't an 'option to buy' though, and Chelsea had to negotiate directly with Real over the transfer.

It isn't actually a transfer ban. It's a ban on registering new players. They can sign players but not play them (like Barca did) or buy players they had on loan before said loan expires (and therefore already registered).

I’m torn on the guy. We got very briefly linked with him this window so done the usual YouTube search. Bags of skill and had an unreal season for Lille but part of me thinks he might be a glorified Bolasie.

Probably famous last words though and he’ll come to the Prem, rip us a new arsehole and hit 20+ goals.

Callum Hudson-Odoi has agreed a five-year deal worth more than £100,000 a week to stay at Chelsea.

The England winger, 18, handed in a transfer request in January after Chelsea rejected a £35m bid from Bayern Munich.

What’s not to like. Its another player and its not my money. Unlike Skylarker I dont watch videos of all the foreign club training sessions so dont really know what he is like.

Would like to think as he has been playing in German League he should adapt quickly although am also hoping that the reason Muto didnt perform last year was because he needed to adapt!
