Out of that list I'd have taken Hoilett and maybe Bassong. It's debatable whether even they will be worth what is being spent on them though.

And Fran's right, we might have made hundreds of enquiries for all we know.

We need two cb's not one , a goalkeeper possibly ? Forster but would he come ? A left back . An attacking midfielder . A winger with pace .

We need one CB and either an attacking mid or winger. We could definitely use a left back, an extra CB, and an additional attacking mid/winger. Only the first two are definite needs, though.

Hoilett's wage demands were off the scale I think. Hence why he's at QPR. If you ask me, I think we will sign one winger (Phillips?) and one defender. Not sure why there is still talk about a left back, sorry to break it to you but Fox is gonna be first choice.
 
I think there is talk of a left-back because Fox was shown to be out of his depth at times last season and has shown signs of continuing in that vein this, and of course we were trying to sign Buttner. I think at the least he needs more support from the left winger.

I'm pretty surprised Hoilett stayed in England to be honest, especially at a club like QPR, so I'm sure you're right about his wages.

Then why were we looking at Buttner and now olsson from Blackburn?

Fox is ok but id like to see more of Luke Shaw and a couple of CBs in along with Phillips and Ramirez.
 
I'm quite looking forward to the next five days. I fully expect at least two players to come in, maybe even three (I'd be very surprised if any more than three came in though, even though we could maybe do with a fourth), so I'm just going to sit back, enjoy Mon and Tues off work, and watch the various rumours and stories develop over these five days.

To be fair, Olsson is just paper talk. We know a bid was lodged with Vitesse at the very least.

I meant why are we being linked with left backs. Plus we know that the Buttner situation was a real enquiry.

I personally would be happy letting Shaw come through but if Adkins see's it as a weakness then I would not disagree.

I think we will bring in 3 players at the very least next week and everyone will be happy again.

I don't know. Why were we being linked to Goodwillie, Mackie and Leon Best? We didn't need any more strikers.
