Given the choice of getting rid of and keeping one, I'd rather keep Walcott. Weird choice some might say, but Van Persie has had 1 decent season in the last 8: is permanently injutes or suspended, and you will get aleast £20M for him, and hes a twat. Walcott is good, better if hes played in the middle, and will get about 5 more years out of him.

The point on that is Arsenal seen to think differently , it was stated that they are cashing in on him and I disagreed as they are desperate to keep van Persie so to me that speaks volumes .

**** sake I expected riveting brand new 100% reliable not at all tedious transfer rumours, I leave for a day, come back and see you kids ****ing bickering. This is an outrage, you're ruining the site. Come on mods, get to work, this is the most heinous of heinous crimes. The internet is serious business. Ban these twats for discussing something.

Other than the long shot Walcott are there actually any other substantial rumours at the moment? I'm thinking a signing this week would ease my worries!

No, but are you from 1885 BC, because your grammar is incredibly outdated.

Well then he must have lived through the Twelfth Dynasty of Egypt, when Ancient Egyptian literature was refined.

Gomarchingin, what do you know of the legendary warrior Sesostris? Was he as much of a badass as the stories describe him?

Southampton are believed to want to deploy Celtic enforcer Beram Kayal alongside former Rangers and Northern Ireland playmaker Steven Davis in the heart of their midfield as they prepare for their return to the top flight after a seven-year absence.

Manager Nigel Adkins, who is also keen to be reunited with Celtic’s top scorer, Gary Hooper, after working with the striker at Scunthorpe United, is an admirer of the Israeli international and could persuade the SPL champions to part with the 24 year-old by making an offer of £5 million.

Both those rumours are a year late.....

On a serious note, Kayal is terrific but I'm not sure he's what we're looking for. Even though we paid a fee for Steven Davis, we've still got a bargain for him and Celtic would want mega bucks to sell any of their top players, as we've already seen.

I suspect we'll go back in for Hooper next summer if he has a good year but right now, it's just not necessary.
