I'd take Dann. He's an improvement on what we have. He is better than Fonte, Seaborne and Martin.
Clearly Adkins rates him, so that's good enough for me and should be good enough for the rest (although some think they know better than Adkins definitely)
You can tell as soon as someone brings up "two relegations in two seasons" that they don't have a clue.

He missed about half the season for Birmingham when they were relegated, and he got squashed nuts last season too which didn't help. On top of that, the Blackburn team on a whole was just terrible.
Is it wrong to think that "Dann was good for Birmingham because McLeish has good defensive tactics" is disrespectful to our coaching staff? McLeish isn't exactly a genius.
Birminghams game plan was perfect for both Johnson and Dann, because of the way they setup they didn't get isolated 1 on 1 very often.
The fact is that at their new clubs, especially Dann, they were isolated and caught up field more often and thus struggled more often.
Dann is also very,very slow and according to Brum fans has the turning rate of a tanker!
NA wants him though and he's probably an improvement on a couple of our CB's, and would add direct competition - he wouldn't completely break the bank either.

Mcleish is definitely not a genius, his emphasis on defence served him very poorly in the end. I hope and think our philosophy will be far more attacking
Not to be funny, but I am struggling to think of fast centre-backs we have been linked to or could sign.
Does it occur to you that Birmingham were relegated because they didn't score enough goals in 2010-11 whilst Blackburn had one of the most shambolic set-ups ever seen in the Premier League under Venky's and Steve Kean. Dann also missed quite a lot of the season with a ruptured testical.
