Some Birmingham comments:

"They don't have the money, they offered this knowing they don't have a chance. Just trying to get their fans a bit moist."

"
The only reason for Southampton to buy butland is they think they can make a profit on him in a year or two..

If he's as good as people say then there's no way he would be at Southampton long term.. He's destinedfor much bigger things.."

"Similar to what they've done with The Ox... Play him regularly for a season, and then sell him to Arsenal for double (going on treble) what Southampton has just offered...
As aj18er suggests; I too have little doubt that it's what Southampton's plan was for our Jack."

"I think someone bigger than the Saints will come in for Jack. lets be honest if you was Jack Butland would you take a risk and go to southampton, they are in top three favourites to go straight back down. "

"ignoring blues stance of selling price, why would butland even entertain moving to Southampton,. it would be a sideways move at best as they are going to be in the fight of their lives to avoid relegation. if relegated he'd back in the Championship."

I like this one because it makes absolutely no sense.

Anyway, I had a look round some Birmingham forums yesterday and there is a bit of a mixed opinion. A lot of people are saying that if they got £6m for him, got Myhill permanently and had change to improve their squad, they would be happy, bearing in mind this is a player who has never played for them and probably isn't experienced for a first team slot yet. The main concern is that they would never see the money again, which from what I have read about the owners is probably reasonable. Personally I am not that convinced that the media have got the story right this time, I'd be delighted if we signed him but perfectly happy if we got a different keeper as well.

Pogneyrbak (spelling??) and guthrie... couple of great signings from reading. Worrying stuff

Why does everyone think Pogrebnyak is a great signing? He's had one good run of form in his career and that was for Fulham, and most Fulham fans admit he was distinctly average after his first few games.

This.

And today he freely admitted his move was money motivated!
