Why do people keep thinking we'll sign players like Simon Kjaer and Olivier Giroud? Feet back on the ground people, please.

Considering his poor form some of the big clubs that wanted him before may have been put off a bit, so we could be in with a chance, if we were to meet Wolfsburg's asking price. Of course you could say that we'd be gambling on a player who hasn't impressed for a while...
It is far fetched, because it was put on that rumour site by a Saints fan who has admitted he did it to see how far the rumour would snowball.
Like I said, I don't think it will happen, what I mean is that he's not necessarily an unrealistic target considering the unspectacular season he's had at Roma.
These players don't fit the pattern of those we sign. Adkins/Cortese go for relatively unknown players who will fit in and have potential for further improvement and hard work. They want players who are thrilled to be here and grateful for the opportunity. We don't want players, however skilled, who think they are going to coast.
Yet Roma still want to sign him. Just forget it, SK will not come here.
I think if Kalou was to take a massive wage cut then he would be good for you but I doubt he would do that as I don't think he will be short of offers as I am surprised he is leaving Chelsea as he is a good player and I did not think they would let him go but it looks like they want to start to rebuild the team.
People please, can we clam down a bit? Some of the players being banded around are a million miles away. We all know that we are on the up but to most players abroad we are the team that has just been promoted and are 2nd favourites to go down. There's no doubt that we are better than what fans of prem teams think we are and I am 100% positive we will turn heads but we have to start slowly otherwise we'll end up like qpr. Players like Rodrigues, Phillips and Burke are the calibre of players we should be looking at. It's not a lack of ambition looking at these players it's called reality.
DWTSD is right. the only people we will get would be players unproven enough from the continent who want to have any chance of playing in the prem, or young hungry players! the prem itself would be a big draw for someone from a minor league!
What part of "I don't think it will happen" do you have trouble understanding?
Anyway, if Roma wanted to sign him that badly they would have done it by now.
And that doesn't mean I think he will come here!
He is a little too lightweight for me and in all fairness to him from the champions league final down to St Mary's is too much of a come down. I don't think he would be sufficiently motivated for us to play lower tier premier league football.
