Just a point on wages that I have been thinking about. Nicola is a businessman first and foremost and runs the club as such. People are saying that we shouldn't break the wage structure for new signings and that it could piss off the likes of Lambert etc if we were to bring people in on a lot more than they are. The thing is that no matter how good they have been for us it has been at a lower level than we are now, if we were to bring someone that is an established performer at this level then they should be on more than someone that has yet to prove themselves at the higher level. It probably isn't fair on players that have done so well but Nicola is a businessman and in business you don't pay top dollar for someone you have just promoted compared to someone that has been doing well at that level for a sustained period. There would be a trial period and if succesfull the wages would go up and be comparible.
It works with the scholars, I am sure when they sign their profesional contract they are not suddenly on the same wages as Lambert etc so arguably they shouldn't be on the same wages as a quality top flight player if/when we sign one.
