    Great price in my opinion - especially during a period of inflated prices for young English talent.

    For people banging on about the transfer fee being too big for a non-PL player (and there appears to be a large number of non-Saints fans on Twitter questioning our wisdom), well it's not as if £6 million is unheard of.

    Chamberlain - £12 million
    Walcott - £7 million

    K Jones - £6 million

    Wickham - £8 million
    Adam - £7 million
    A Johnson - £7 million
    K Doyle - £7 million
    S Fletcher - £6.5 million

    Ok yes, some of those players had PL experience already, but not exactly a lot. And is J-Rod really any worse than those listed?

    Jeez, that much? That's getting up there with the Carroll transfer as the most overpriced transfer going.

    Give me Jay-Rod for £6 million any day of the week. Has Wickham even scored 10 PL goals yet?

    So where does he fit in our system? For me, I can see him playing beyond Lambert, as Barnard often did and Lee has done. It really does give us flexible options. The 4 strikers are different but complementary types.

    Is it sad that one of the main reasons I'm happy (other than because we've signed a brilliant player) is that I don't have to bother signing him on FM any more?

    You'll notice, no Burnley fans (or seemingly intelligent people) are claiming it's overpriced. Except, of course, the bitter "he was **** anyway" fans you get with literally every transfer.

    £8m rising to £12m, you're both right. Ridiculous price though, didn't think he was ever worth it. He's almost scored 10 though - he's only 9 off!
