We stayed in Sal at Riu Palace Santa Maria, it was absolutely fantastic. The hotel couldnt be faulted numerous bars, pools and restaurants and right on the beach.
We never had a bad meal or drink, there are plenty of restaurants to chose from and its very safe.
We learnt to snorkel, went to the salt lakes, we also had a full day in Espargos the main town which was brilliant. We wanted a relaxing chilled holiday but were worried about the daughter being bored but she loved every minute, she made friends with a teenage girl on the 2nd day and everything just clicked.
Its one of the nicest places we have ever been, people are so friendly, the weather was perfect, it was hot but always seemed to have a little breeze.
The beaches are like something of a postcard, we cant wait to go back, if you want a rowdy holiday then this isnt the place for you, its all about relaxing, good food & drink and a really relaxed atmosphere, come the end of our holidays I am always ready for home, I could easily have stayed another week.

Just catching up on here and seen whats happened with your holiday, are you ABTA covered ? Regardless its disgusting that they can do this kind of thing without any form of compensation being paid.

Yes we are ABTA covered after badgering our travel agent I’ve just heard Fred have paid up in full should get the money in a couple of days.
Mind that dosent include out of pocket payments such as travel insurance, train fares to and from London so I’m £300 out of pocket.
All our agent said was Fred wouldn’t cover those expenses so I have to suck it up I suppose
Won’t be going down the travel agent route again, first time I’ve used one and they don’t earn their commission in my view.

Terrible mate, I was burnt in the past and now only use TUI or Jet2.

Well, packing me bags, jet plane tomorrow. You wont have to put up with me for a week or so. I am experimenting with zero Sunderland for a week. No scores, no transfers, nowt. When I get back I predict I will return to a board full of delight at a couple of victories, a new exciting striker and everyone talking about Amad being back in the next week!

Well we will see. My lad is going mad he has to come with us as he is missing Burton away with Derby. He has already sorted out how he is going to be watching football where we are, so I probably will here results. Pretty determined mind to just lie on a beach, read some books and chill.

We're leaving day after tomorrow after a fortnight but it's been a cracking holiday, the kids have loved it especially dicking about in the pool. Only criticism is I don't think the foods been all that great I don't know if it's a covid hangover or something. Not bad by any means but not as good as I remember.
