You are in a great spot. If you have the time I’d definitely recommend exploring some of the other towns around the lake. You can jump on and off the boats so in a day you can see a few different spots and combine with some food, drinks etc. It’s also well worth a day trip to Verona as it’s only 30-40mins by car although be warned Italians drive like lunatics.
What an amazing place to visit. The old town is a world heritage site, bustling with bars, restaurants and cafes. We did the Wielechka salt mines ( a must see!) Oscar Schindler's factory and of course we had to do Auschwitz and Auschwitz Birkenau. Absolutely horrific what went on there. If I could give some advice.... Make sure you have good walking footwear and definitely use the tour guides when booking the excursions. If I could sum it up in three words, it was fascinating, interesting and relaxing. Auschwitz was very emotional, so be prepared.
My sister has been a few times and she has said it's a beautiful place and she has done the Auschwitz tour. I've never fancied it myself but I may give it a shot for a long weekend. Sounds an interesting place with lots of history.
think we are going to book a day trip for both camps then the salt mine in one go my mate goes a couple of weeks before me and he's doing that so going to see how it goes before i book it, really looking forward to it, heard the salt mines are excellent
Decided to see what Cape Verde is like and maybe return in November, its either that or Tenerife as the wife has decided she wants warm weather not freezing her arse off in the lakes or Scotland ! I have never been to Tenerife for years so I suppose if Cape Verde isnt what we hope it wont be such a bad thing having a week in the sun mid November.
Post reviews of Cape Verde please We stay close to home in winter we go to tenerife playa las americas for a bit heat The carrabean is not accessible any more
I never even knew you could holiday there until the wife started coming in from work with her mates holiday tales. Could be trouble ahead if we tip up and its crap because somehow it will be my fault
Only heard good things mind, parents are big on their holidays and they loved it. I’ll also await your report cos don’t know many who have been.
We're at Los Cristianos in September, nice area mind so if you do look at Tenerife I would recommend it
Its been a long time since I was there and we stayed in the Sir Antony in Las Americas, I always said I would go back as it was a cracking hotel, missus wants to try another resort so I may give that a look. Cheers
The hotel we're staying at is Paradise Park, decent hotel and food was really good. There's a bar right next door and the front with all the bars and restaurants is about a 10 minute walk
