Glad we haven't gone down that route and that the people making decisions at SAFC are sticking to their guns.Owners signing players based on appeasing the fans never ends well.

If we have the money I’d be doing everything I could to get stansfield here
I'm not sure RLB will see it that way tbhBenette is a better option
I don’t think he makes it as a regular PL striker. Nice player but he’s never gonna dominate.Someone can tell me i'm wrong here but I think £6m is bordering on steep for him.
Agreed. The big thing for me, though, is the realisation that the fanbase’s idea of what a ‘proven’ striker would give us is not necessarily related to reality. It’s about a warm feeling more than it’s actually about production. The idea in peoples heads is consistent goals from the off. The reality is that two goals by January can still end in a season where people say ‘that’s what proven gets you’![]()
As ever, stuff like transfers, ambition, experience, provenance isn’t the thing we need. They may be a means to an end, they may be our best bet, but the thing that we actually want is points.Interesting. It's saying that we as fans don't feel right if we take the field without a recognised, league ready goalscorer in the line up. However,if we get the best from the players we have, our exciting attacking play may mean we get goals from all over the pitch....thus,we don't need an out and out front man.

Think Isidor and Watson would be ahead of him to be honest.

I know it’s hard to judge In u23 games but whenever they’ve both played watson looks miles ahead of jewi the stats back that up tooThink Isidor and Watson would be ahead of him to be honest.
Watson looks quality, I reckon he'll end up playing more centrally as his career progressesI know it’s hard to judge In u23 games but whenever they’ve both played watson looks miles ahead of jewi the stats back that up too
The Stansfield deal is horrendous business and I really don't understand it.
To me it looks like Birmingham have asked how much would it cost and Fulham have said a figure they thought Birmingham would never say yes to and they for some reason said yes. It's great business by Fulham.
He cost £15m yesterday, today he's worth maybe £10m at the most. They won't be able to make a profit on him for maybe 2 years and that would involve a great season in League One and promotion plus a 15 goal season in the championship.
It's not like they needed him either. Owners signing players based on appeasing the fans never ends well.

Yeah fair point, I do like jewi he’s so direct so does give a different option to all of our other wingersVery different players to be fair. Tommys a right footer on the left isn't he? Jewi an old school winger, down the byline and whip one in, though I think they've tried to change this and add things to his game.
It's Grigg x10.You must log in or register to see media
Woah woah woah. Autos would be an outstanding season but we’re still a club with at absolute best the 5th biggest budget in the league. I’m trying to remind myself that if we’re in the top ten by end of January we’re fairly well placed to put a run together to get top 6I think some are forgetting the comments RLB made about Mayenda being the surprise package during pre season, a CF. Then Wilson comes in as well as a promising young striker with a great youth record. I’d be disappointed with the play offs now, I’m fully expecting automatic promotion.

I think promotion gets them a par. But as we know, being in second place in the run-in can quickly turn into a playoff spot - and then all bets are offIt's Grigg x10.
They have a huge target on their back now, bigger than we ever had. If they don't come 1st by a distance it's a poor season, even if they get promoted.
To be fair mate the top 6 would be outstanding but I like getting carried away.Woah woah woah.
