Can only think he was mixed up with someone else. Either the club looked at him as a development player but and chose not to go with him and we (fans) mixed up up with someone else, or the club thought he was someone different until we had a close look, had happened before (cough, Milton Nunez, cough). For that deal he could not be rated at €12million a year ago.
Also, and I promise I’m not trying to sound “I told you so”, as I’ve kept saying today, the fact no concrete links to any strikers have happened today, other than the young lad, was worrying to me. All the signs are pointing to no striker coming in and I think it was nothing other than blind faith and hope that there is.

Surely not, will be inexcusable if he’s who they are bringing in up front.
I won’t get worried until 11pm though.

Yeah same here I think mate, I’ve been very positive so far but it’s clear what we need to do so I’m hoping they get somebody across the line who will make a difference.

It was always a hail mary as the yanks like to say, he has a profile big enough to get a club in one of the top-5 leagues, probably even in a European competition.
In the past we have struggled to offer competitive fees and wages but we are told that this is the sustainability model and that is fine. They have (effectively) £20m sitting in the bank to get a striker. It will be unforgiveable if they fail again
Why would we do that? If we did the club would deserve criticism for playing silly buggers.
If you think my post is slagging the club off then I give up. It is an opinion not expressed in a way that is quite neutral.
