Maybe I’m being naive, but feel it’s no coincidence that mendy and Simic are off within hours of one another. Feels like we might have made progress elsewhere.
I’m going for the naive option, we could really do with Simic/Mendy and another. And as I have said previously I’m the eternal pessimist where this club is concerned. Too many kicks in the stones has seen to that

Interesting that @John Wick ’s info was wrong or at the best out of date. Not having a dig. But he said Simic had chosen us and it was down to the clubs. Things can’t have moved that quickly.

We are not going to be spending wages unless the player is an immediate first team improvement.

Our wage ceiling is tight, rightly so. Top end wages will only be given to players who make the 11 immediately stronger.

Makes no sense for Cardiff to buy him then loan him to some team at the bottom end of the Belgian league, they are hardly awash with striking options as it is, let alone buying a highly rated, played in europe striker and sending him straight out on loan

I’m at the lords test match today ironically sitting next to my mate who’s a Cardiff fan. He categorically says there’s no way they’re spending over a million on a striker and loaning him out. They need a striker now as much as we do.
There’s a few clubs desperate up top - Hull being one of them. That’s why I’m fully expecting a few surprises on fees spent in the next day or so.

love to hear that. But would love it more if we had that striker who improves us immediately :D

Strange isn't it - it's probably the same as us doing similar, our fans would be baffled if we spent money on a striker and loaned him out and we're finacially better off than they are

We have no excuses if we don't sign a regular striker that improves our first 11 now we have 18m from Clarke. If we are left with just Isodore then Speakman has failed again.

I wish I was confident as others but previous windows make me very dubious we have other options if Cannon goes elsewhere

Only way I see it makes sense (and I still don't see how it makes sense from Simic's perspective) is that Cardiff have another good striker coming in too and that they're spending all the McGuiness money in one hit.
