If we don’t get a striker I’m afraid there’s no defence of Speakman. You can say things change last minute but you need to safeguard against that. Selling Clarke relatively cheaply and not using the money after a good start is indefensible.
But that only matters come 11pm tomorrow. I have confidence / faith / hope, however misguarded, that we get who we need tomorrow.

Yeah, something isn't quite right.
I don't know much about him, but from the reports on here and the fact that he's played regularly in the champions league at 20, surely he's good enough to play upfront for Cardiff?!?!
Whatever happens, happens. I'm sure we'll get what we want. They've delivered on everything so far this summer and I'm relaxed about them getting someone else in upfront.
Cannon will 100% leak from the Leicester end again so I don’t think that will come out of nowhere. Other options might though.
I'm confident a forward will come in. We have the cash and if we are able to bring in a midfielder who was playing Champions League football last season then surely we can get an adequate forward through the door.

Interesting that @John Wick ’s info was wrong or at the best out of date. Not having a dig. But he said Simic had chosen us and it was down to the clubs. Things can’t have moved that quickly.
