To get a rough idea

Rutter 6G 15A - £40M

Hutchinson 10G 5A - £22M + 25% Sell on clause

Delap 8G 2A - £15M + £5M + 20% Sell on clause

Rowe 12G 2A - £14M + £3M

How much does this make Clarke worth in your opinion? (15G 4A) Obviously goals and assists aren’t everything and players will have played indifferent roles and positions for a different number of matches but just a rough idea.

Clarke scored 5 or 6 penalties though. He’s better than Rowe and Hutchinson but none of that should really matter it’s what we value him at. Better players will be sold for less and worse players will be sold for more that’s just football

No point in chewing over the fee we MAY get for Clarke, the club know his value and wont have their pants pulled down - Look at the incredible LND deal as an example.

IF he does go to Ipswich i will watch and hope he does well for them, he hasnt let us down and given us some great moments.

We have had a great start to the season, losing Clarke would be a blow, but we have options and players like Mundle etc need games to progress

Simic would be a huge coup for us. With him and Isodor, it seems like we're operating in a slightly different market in the last few days.

Maybe it's Clarke out and Mendy plus the above 2 in with Isodor seen as a left wing option to compete with Mundle.

I have a feeling these two were an alt to Mendy

Then we're still going to be short when Clarke leaves in my opinion unless we have someone else lined up. (I do believe he's leaving based on the calibre of the players we're now targeting)
Clark leaving opens up a chance for Mundle, Poveda or Ba to show they can fill that void. We might also see a PL loan for the left wing.

Could it not be Ekwah who's about to be sold?

Sky Sports News still saying Southampton are interested in Clarke as well as Ipswich. Maybe just a ruse to get the fee up? Personally think Ipswich have a better chance of making a fist of staying up than Southampton

That's all true, but losing a proven talent to give opportunity for people to step up isn't quite what I'm hoping for.

I'm not saying we can replace Clarke like for like, but I'd hope Isodor and Mundle are fighting for the left wing role with another striker to come in to challenge Simic/Mayenda.

If you want to sell Clarke and replace him with someone just as good then it'll cost you £25m and you might as well have not sold him

I'd be very surprised to see all of Mendy,Simic and Isadore joining us. I would think the Mendy deal has gone south as we've run out of patience with it. The other two look positive. I further don't believe that Jack will have to leave to finance these deals. I'm expecting Jack to stay, these two to sign, 3 or 4 departures,Dewi,Hemir,Pembele,Anderson and we'll be good to go.
